Whats the best kind of concealer or foundation or anything to cover up these four pimples I have ASAP?

I need it for today, I will go buy it in like two hours. I need something to cover me up completely without it looking blochy. Thanks ahead to any ladies or even men that answer this question.Whats the best kind of concealer or foundation or anything to cover up these four pimples I have ASAP?
first of all, if you have time...i know this sounds crazy, but it works. put a little bit of toothpaste on each pimple, especially if there red. that will help little. as far as foundation? try maybeline liquid, or the covergirl liquid/powder mix

good luckWhats the best kind of concealer or foundation or anything to cover up these four pimples I have ASAP?

Medium Moyon

its sweet.
Bare naturals concealer or Smashbox stick.... another tip is put a little visine on it beforehand and let it dry (it will take the red out!)

good luck!!!!!
Amazing Cosmetics- Amazing Concealer. The best concealer I have ever used, would never be without it. It's a bit pricey at $40, but it lasts a long time since you only have to use a pin prick sized amount. You can get at Sephora, call first they don't all carry it in the store, I had to get online. Good Luck.
Ok don't worry

Try Clean%26amp;Clear Maximum stength invisible blemish%26amp; pimple treatment It fights pimples all day. Just put it on your problem aria and let the magic begin!
dont use toothpaste! ever it just dries out your skin and makes your skin flaky. but it does lessen the redness. i dont recomend it

MAC Studio Fix Fluid works very well at covering pimples and acne scars and anything thing else u want to cover,i have some acne scars and the occasional pimple and this hides them so well! i dont even have to use concealer. just dab it on the spots where you need xtra coverage. MAC Studio Fix Fluid foundation it has buildable coverage so u can put more or less on depending on the coverage u want. i have oily skin and this lasts all day through heat and sweat! before with my old makeup (bare mineral) i would have to reapply my makeup about 4 times a day. but with this i just put on my makeup in the morning and it lasts all day. also try MAC blot powder/pressed.

BUT HOWEVER the purpose of foundation is to give you a look of even skin tone not cover pimples. You can also:

-Dab concealer on your problem areas with a shade just lighter than your natural skin color,

-Then, blot finishing powder to help the coverup to stay.

-After, put foundation over your face and put more concealer when needed.

dry skin- liquid foundation

oily skin- pressed powders
i use superdrugs 2 true range its really cheep and it works perfectly

  • Why does my foundation and concealer flake when I put it on?

Ok every time I put on concealer or foundation it always flakes in places like under my eye, or the nose. If not, it looks sort of scaly and not smooth. Can anybody tell me why? And I'm using products from well known companies like Clinique and Covergirl. I'm also using my fingers to put it on, if that makes a difference?

So what should I do?Why does my foundation and concealer flake when I put it on?
make sure you exfoliate your skin because make up will dry it out a bit and if there are little bits of dead skin it will look a bit scaly. b sure to use a moisturiser and was off you make up at the end of each day!Why does my foundation and concealer flake when I put it on?
I have the same problem with concealer. I'm thinking that it's old. Try Chanel. I believe them to be smooth and moist. You can try a concealer brush too.
Before you put on your make up make sure your face is clean and use a moisturizer. Wait at least ten minutes before putting on your foundation. If you apply make up too soon after moisturing or cleansing it can be pushed out of your pores causing it to flake. Using a non-latex sponge can also help reduce flaking.
If your makeup is fresh that shouldnt happen. I even have old tubes that Ive had for a long time and they dont do that...unless my skin is dry.. I believe that is the problem here. Even if it doesnt look visibly dry, it might be, which makes liquid foundation look awful. I use St. Ives apricot scrub and LOTS of lotion or aloe vera gel. I hope this helps...also, if you see your skin is a little flaky, dont put powder on too, this is a surefire way to make it look even worse.
Sounds like either you have dry skin, you're putting on too much makeup, or both.

Before you put foundation on, you should prep your skin. Wash with a mild scrub (Oil of Olay Regenerist Warming scrub is amazing) and follow with moisturizer. A good one I've found is Neutrogena Oil Free Moisture. This will help your makeup go on more smoothly by getting rid of dead skin cells and hydrating new ones.

Second, the kind of makeup you use is important--meaning if it's formulated for your skin type. Name brands have very little to do with anything. You could be using Dior foundation, but if it's formulated for oily skin and you have dry skin, it isn't going to look good.

If you're using cream-to-powder or just plain powder formulas, I'd ditch them for a creamier alternative.
You might just be a little dry in those areas. Try dabbing some extra virgin olive oil on the area after you wash your face, before you put on makeup and a little heavier when you go to bed. Make sure to dab your concealer... not rub.
    maybe it's old

    never happened to me
it's either old, or you have dry skin. use a face moisterizer or lotion before putting it on. if that doesn't work buy new make up
It sounds like a classic case of dry skin. I have it as well, and here is my rountine-

I scrub my face really well everyother day with an apricot scrub by St. Ives ( you can get it just about anywhere- and you can get it for sensitive skin, dry skin, the whole nine yards)

Every day I use Sea-Breeze on my face to help clean out the pores. Once my face dries, I use a toner on my skin to help even out the overall tone and pore consistency. After that, I apply a light layer of face moisturizer. I know it's old school, but I like Oil of Olay. It's light on my skin and doesn't make my pores feel gross. After that, I apply my make-up.

Also, if the shower is before bed, and not to start the day, I put a good layer of moisturizer on and that's it!!! And don't forget your neck!!

And, to remove your make-up, I like those face cloths that you get wet and they lather up. Or, what works in a pinch for stubborn eye make-up and mascera is good old conditioner! It's cheap and right there!
Ok this happens when you apply make up to dry skin. Your skin needs moisture try using clinique 1,2,3 step guide it's amazing also clinque have a product called moisture surge extra thirsty skin relief you put it on before you put on ur foundation.//x
it's because your skin is sensitive and dry..mix it with a little moisturizing unscented lotion
mayb bcuz those places r dry try xtra moistrizer b4 u out on ur makeup

I really like maybelline's mineral power concealer. It doesn't look obvious and it has a shimmer from the minerals that reflect light instead of just making it looking cakey.

I use a powder with M-A-C after I put on a little bit of a liquid by Covergirl.

In what order should I apply my MAC foundation and concealer after primer?

I use Studio Fix Powder and Studio Finish Concealer, and I always put the concealer on first, as the MAC makeup artist told me to. I am now using Smashbox Photofinish primer. Should I keep putting my concealer on first or could that affect how the concealer goes on? Or should I apply my powder foundation first? In what order should I apply my MAC foundation and concealer after primer?
    1. Primer, it primes the face (Given you probably know this =) )

    2. Concealer, to hide the blemishes

    3. Foundation to cover the concealer and any redness or dark circles peeping through the concealer as well as uneven skin tone color ...etc.

    4. Powder, to set everything and ensure it will stay

Hope this helps =)In what order should I apply my MAC foundation and concealer after primer?
Shortcut in case you are lazy -

    =]

    Primer-Concealer-Powder

Okay, primer definately goes on before everything, but you know that.

Once you have that smoothed out evenly over your entire face you should do concealer.

Since you are using Studio Finish which is a cream, it should smooth on pretty easily over your primer since primers essentially fill in yoiur pores so your skin is completely smooth. So the primer won't hurt your concealer application at all, it is definately helpful.

Since you use a powder foundation it should always come last. Powder sets liquids or creams so that they last longer, so when you apply your powder foundation you are setting your concealer.

If you did it the reverse way, concealer over powder it wouldn't go on nearly as smooth and also wouldn't last as long.

If you think about it, the formulas need to match, smashbox photofinish is a cream/liquid, so it should be followed by a cream/liquid product, wether it be concealer or foundation.

Of course, if you didn't use concealer at all you could just apply your foundation, but that is beside the point.

Powders and liquids don't mix well, think of it like this: have you ever heard of someone powdering before they apply their foundation? No. You always powder AFTER foundation, that is essentially what you are doing, powdering after your concealer, even though in your case your powder is a foundation.

    Okay, now I am rambling.

In short, powder always comes last, always, wether it be foundation or just setting powder.

Concealer can go after foundation, but only if it is a liquid or cream foundation, since you use powder, it comes before foundation.

That's all have to say really, sorry for my rambling.
The way a lot of people do it is like this:

You always put Primer on first, and then you use the concealer undereyes. (its supposed to be lighter than your foundation) but youre using a powder foundation, so you won't need a separate concealer for undereyes, really, though its better. (most people have 2 concealers, one - two lighter shades than foundation for undereye, then one same color as foundation for blemishes.)

So put the primer on, and use your finger/brush to pat some of the powder on undereyes, and blend it. If you have 2 concealers, use the lighter one undereye now.

    Then apply Foundation.

After, see if you even need to conceal your blemishes.

The reason you do it after is because you see where you need to conceal more. You don't need to conceal a small blemish before foundation if the foundation can cover it up on its own.

But, if you have a zit, like a big one kinda, conceal it BEFORE foundation so the foundation ensures that it stays covered.
I know this is going to kill your dreams but I suggest NOT using a Primer in the summer, your makeup is more prone to coming loose because of the heat/moisture.

The primer may cause your makeup to clump up so just skip that.

From what you listed you are not using a foundation right? Well anyway if you are you really don't need to, the Studio Fix powder is really FULL coverage powder. I agree with the artist, apply the Concealer first, try blending it in with either a conealer brush or for larger areas I reccomend either a Sigma 190 ( sigmamakeup.com) or a MAC 190. Then apply your powder over it. I would suggest a finishing powder for touchups rather than using more Studio Fix. It can get cakey after awhile.
it depends on what color your concealer is? If its lighter that do it first like the makeup tech told you..

I just put my concealer on after because I feel that it gives better coverage that way and just blend it out with my brush.

Typically, if you are using a powder you don't want to apply a liquid/cream over that..

The motto to live by while applying makeup is to go from most wet(moisturizer, primer, liquid foundation) to driest(setting powder, powder foundation, mineralized foundation).

So, after all that, I think that you should stick to what the makeup artist told you, or until you switch up your routine... :)
Over the years, I have talked to several MAC makeup artists:

they all tell you different things about whether to put on foundation on first or concealer.

I prefer first foundation then primer. the reason is simple:

if you apply your foundation first, you are less likely to apply too much concealer so that it will look all more natural.

but in the end: do whatever you are comfortable with and what gives you your fav result. There are no hard and fast rules in makeup!!!!
From experience, primer, then the most liquid product to the least liquid product. If you apply powder products before creams or liquids you chance it looking cakey, which is not a cute look. I would suggest that you use your primer, then your concealer and then you powder foundation.
You should moisturize your face first, let your moisturizer absorb into your skin, wait like 10mins, and then apply your primer, let that settle in for a few minutes. Since you're wearing powder foundation, use your concealer before you apply your foundation, so your foundation will set the concealer as well..
Personally, i'd put on the powder first, because when you apply the concealer and then the powder sometimes the concealer gets wiped away, which means you have to re apply the concealer all over again. So i'd apply primer - foundation - concealer
Since your foundation is a powder, you put cream products under it. You always put cream to cream, powder to powder. But you can set creams with powders. So do your cream primer, cream concealer, then powder foundation.
If you apply the foundation first and then you apply the concealer, you`ll look more natural. If you think it`s enough then no need for powder, you decide.
You should use the primer first and let that set into your skin before you put on your concealer and powder. The primer will actually smoothe out your skin beforehand letting you have a nice surface to put makeup on! =)
Apply the smashbox photofinish first, the concealer, and last powder foundation because the powder will set everything and give you a fresh look.
    1) Primer

    2) Concealer

    3) Powder foundation

If you were to use a liquid or cream foundation then you would apply concealer after foundation
i think you should put the primer on first, then the concealer, then your powdered foundation.
    primer is always firsts

Since your using powder foundation use the concealer first if u dont it might end up looking cakey..

    primer, foundation, concealer.
    primer, concealer, powder.

How to apply liquid concealer alone without it looking cakey?

Okay so here is my dilemma:

I recently bought the Stila perfecting concealer which is suppose to cover blemishes/undereye circles. When i dab it on, I find it looks dark and cakey so i blend it all over my face. I do not use foundation(the powder kind) so please suggest an alternative. I want to find a way to use this concealer alone. Will it be suitable under a liquid foundation? Any tips on how to apply it properly?

PS: Please do not suggest I use another brand. I need help with this particular brand. How to apply liquid concealer alone without it looking cakey?
dab it on with a wet foundation sponge. Then apply foundation over that for a clear ceaseless look. Loose powder on top of that to ';seal'; everything in. Poof! instant fix.

i put concealer on under my eyes than on any zit i have.or mark on my face than powder.

but u should put foundation on first than concealer. What is the best concealer in your opinion?
the best concealer i've used and continue to use is Make Up For Ever's Full Cover. it's oil-free so it won't break you out, water-proof, long-wearing, transfer-resistant, and blends in beautifully. it's $30 a tube, but i bought mine seriously like 2 years ago and it's still about 1/3 full.

you should always put on your concealer after applying a liquid foundation--if you do it the other way around, the foundation will just undo your concealer. however, if you're using a mineral powder foundation, apply your concealer on problem spots beforehand. as for finishing powder, that can always be applied as a last step.

    It's amazing :)

%26amp; I'v used liquid foundation, powder foundation AND mousse foundation with it. Powder foundation is always the worst, it just doesn't look natural. Use mousse foundation, like Maybelline mousse foundation, it works wonders. I have sensitive skin %26amp; it doesn't do it any harm. Liquid is great also!
use a primer instead it keeps your face from breaking out as bad less foundation is more if you know what mean . i used concealer n will never ever again but it is your choice liquids are the best choice in concealers

If you don't mind ordering online, Aromaleigh's Cream Concealor is the best I've tried! (www.aromaleigh.com -- click on Traditional Cosmetics). The Pink color is excellent for hiding undereye circles since it cancels out the blue tone of the dark circles. (You will probably want to apply your regular foundation or a skintone-colored concealor on top to help blend it into your skin though.) Plus this concealor lasts all day and doesn't cake up in my fine lines like most other concealors do (department store brands included)! Their more natural skintone colors work well for blemishes, as does the Mint (green cancels out red) -- I use Lite which is a good match for my skintone.

Just make sure you always order samples first because Aromaleigh does not accept returns!! I think the concealor is around $10, but the container is HUGE and you only need a teeny tiny bit since it's so thick, so it lasts forever!

If you don't want to try Aromaleigh, try to find another pink or ';cool'; (pink undertones) concealor since that works best for undereye circles. I know L'Oreal's True Match line includes cool colors which may work, although I've never actually tried the products.

If your circles are more purple than blue, you may also prefer a lemony-yellow concealor instead, since yellow cancels out purple. I know that Physician's Formula makes a yellow concealor, although again I haven't tried it.

=)Is there a good concealer/make up that covers up freckles?
You'll need a full coverage foundation ... the best one I have found is CoverFX http://www.sephora.com/browse/brand_hier鈥?/a> I sometimes get hives on my face, which trust me, is much, much worse than freckles and this covers the well.
I know you don't want to hear this, but you should embrace your freckles. Don't try to hide who you are and what you were born with. No one judges you on whether you have freckles or not, but many people do judge others who wear heavy make-up, because they know that they aren't comfortable with who they are. Be proud of what your parents gave you, because they're not going to go away. Don't let it be a bad thing.
its worth investing in a mineral makeup such as Bareminerals. It covers freckles realy well and is good for your skin, adn if you ever get pimpes it too .

another good mineral makeup is sheer cover . its used for freckles sun spots or even large birthmarks visit www.sheercover.com

I know that you want to hide them, but the thing is you can't hide your natural beauty. It's hard to accept that coming from someone who doesn't have freckles. But maybe you could find a way so they don't stand out as much. Try adding powder thats the color of your skin tone over whatever foundation you wear. That might work.
Ok I have the same problem. I use Foundation, Conclealer, and this powder called ';Loreal Paris True Match Super Blendable Powder'; and all of those work pretty well. Hope I helped.

Waterproof or long-wearing concealer works best. Start with clean skin and a non-oily lotion. If you have a make-up base, that will help. For a really red blemish, use a green solid concealer and lightly blend. Then overthat pat on a concealer that matches your skin tone. Finish with powder. Powder will set the make up and you should be fine for at least 6 hours. What is the best way to hide a pimple with concealer?
when u find out let me know :)
When you put on the concealer, you need to wait for it to COMPLETELY dry and then put on a powder, either pressed or loose, but that usually helps.
Is it that big of deal? So you got a ******' pimple, BIG ******' deal! It's not like your got a huge 3 pound tumor stickin out the side of your forehead. Just put some Clearasil on that sh*t and it will go away in a day or two.

I have Purple greenish dark bags under eyes, will yellow concealer do the trick?

I was wonderin because I was planning to buy it tomorrow.:) if it doesn;t what will do?I have Purple greenish dark bags under eyes, will yellow concealer do the trick?
Yeah, that should do the trick! Make sure it's a liquid coverup because those work the best for dark circles.I have Purple greenish dark bags under eyes, will yellow concealer do the trick?
Yellow balances out red, like pimples.

Try lighter concealer, it works like a charm!
It depends. I have them because of genetics, and no, it is not a miracle, but I guess it does help some. if you have them chronically, I would recommend Crab Tree and Evelyn Intensive Eye Treatment. it runs about 30 US dollars but lasts forever...it is not a concealer, it is a cream. Also, if money is no option, laser resurfacing and/or chemical peels can help reduce the apperance of these circles. If you want a really good concealer, I would recommend bareMinreals Well Rested. it does better than any other concealer I have ever tried, and believe me, I have spend THOUSANDS of dollars to cover them up.
No ma'am yellow concealer won't work. Yellow concealer is actually for concealing red areas, it's just going to make greenish/purple areas look a little bit of a sick color. Try a concealer one shade lighter than your skin and pat it just in the under eye area, be careful not to extend any further than where the bags are or you're going to lighten the skin your trying to match. Be sure just to pat it, then set it with powder.
im pretty sure it depends on the colour of your skin. The bags usually occur when u just wake up, you are tired or have a chubby face.
why yellow? but make sure its only one shade lighter than skin-tone

What is the best concealer for dark circles?

i get really bad dark circles around my eyes even when i am not tired or stressed. i have tried alot of products but havent found one that works great. anyone with the same problem find somthing that works great that isnt super expensive? im a young mom of 2 boys so i dont have a ton of extra money. What is the best concealer for dark circles?
Mary Kay has some products that can help with circles under your eyes, but it might be a little pricey (nothing out of control).

Lots of the time dark circles are caused by swelling under your eyes. If you get a firming gel (maybe Loreal or Revlon has one), that should help. Concealer is just going to cover it temporarily, a firming gel might help it in the long run.

Also, I don't know if you do this (but my mom used towhen she had dark circles), make sure you aren't wearing any makeup under your eyes (eyeliner or mascara), just wear it on top, sometimes that can make it look worse. . .

I need a good concealer to hide dark circles?

I am quite self-concious about the dark circles underneath my eyes. I use concealer but it doesn't tend to cover them enough. Anyone know of a good, relatively cheap brand I can use?I need a good concealer to hide dark circles?
    Touche Eclat is a great product and i know of a website you can buy it at a discounted price, i love this site, they offer discounted, maekup, perfumes, skincare;

    www.clickforcosmetics.com

    ....and they are UK based

use it after your foundation then before and after your powder :-)I need a good concealer to hide dark circles?
    Touche Eclat works wonders!!
If you are looking for a drugstore brand one, Neutrogena is a good option.
Touche Eclait by YSL is the secret weapon of any make-up artist. It is quite expensive at around 22 pounds but will last for ages and is definately a good investment. I've tried all kinds of brands and some are just not worth the money. The trick is to put it on and leave it for about 10 seconds and then gently pat it in, that way it fixes to your skin properly and doesn't just slide off.

If you want a freebie remedy try this; use your ring finger and gently pat the area below your eye. This stimulates the lymphatic drainage and helps to reduce dark circles and puffy eyes. Try and do it a few times every day.
Sephora has a four-pack of concealers for under $20. It has green, purple, and two flesh tones. To cover circles, apply the green underneath the flesh tones. That should help with the dark circles. Or try a yellow concealer, it counteracts purple. Drink lots of water to help with puffiness and circles. Otherwise, not much you can do. If you are willing to spend $40 - Amazing Cosmetics Concealer lives up to it's name. A little goes a long way. It's like a blemish eraser.
    Try Arbonne, Item#: 1720

    About Face Concealer, Fair Complexions

Conceal imperfections while hydrating skin with Arbonne's light-reflecting Concealer, in four shades that won't dry, flake or smudge. This botanically-based, lightweight concealer helps to even skin tone and conceal blemishes prior to foundation. Enjoy lasting color and easy application with the built-in wand. For fair complexions.

I would be happy to give you my 35% Discount if you would like to try the products
Yves Saint Laurent do a product called Touche Eclat. it is in a gold tube with a brush at the end. It reflects the light and hides all dark circles - it's the most amazing product I have ever owned!
I have the exact same problem, and I use Touche Eclait by YSL. It seems expensive at 拢22, but it lasts such a long time, it works out cheap in the long run!
nothing, but nothing beats touche eclat!
Oh I have this problem also,

First you take a light lipstick redess or pink. depending on your skin tone. Then apply it under your eye.

After that put your concealer or foundation on.

    It works great!
Use a concealer that is a bit lighter than your complexion. Carefully dab it on and then use a second layer of your regular foundation!

Try not to cover them up its much easier to get rid of them! Get lots of rest and use tea bags (they work much better than cucumbers!). ALso, I model and a quick fix that we sue is an ice cube. Hold it on the bags of your eyes for atleast twenty seconds!
neutrogena- its a concealer and its green. i dont know the name of it though... its works REALLY well.
My favorite is at Sephora - Light Touch Highligter -

It is light and creamy pen that banishes dark spots, shadows, and dark circles, creating a sheer luminosity that brightens and refreshes the contours of the face.

All you have to do is twist the end of of the pen and drops of the product come out through the brush. Apply and blend and you are good to go!
Mary Kay concealer is good but I really like the Mary kay Facial Highlighting Pen... Works great, especially if you have if your circle are dark and/or bluish.

also to get rid of these dark circles you should drink lots of water as this is a sign of hydration problems and possible kidney disorder too. do yourself a favour and forget masking it, and look after it.

  • I need a good concealer/cover up to cover my allergic reaction before prom. What should I use?

Maybe something sprayable that won't damage my overly expensive dress. The marks are on my neck, my hair will cover it from the back. I'm about the same shade as Sanaa Lathan or Lil' Kim if that helps. Thanks!I need a good concealer/cover up to cover my allergic reaction before prom. What should I use?
First - have you gone to the doctor to see what they can do about it? They might be able to give you a cream that will help alleviate the spots. Or you could try over the counter hydrocortisone cream.

To cover up any marks you have, you'll need to get a thick concealer - the best ones I've found are in little pots, but the kind that come in lipstick-like tubes are good, too. Overly liquid concealers, like those that you apply with a wand or twist-up sponge applicator, won't be heavy enough to cover anything serious. You'll also need a concealer brush - a small brush with synthetic bristles - to apply the concealer, as it makes that application much more precise and will help you get better coverage. Sonia Kashuk, a brand found at Target, makes a great concealer brush.

Before you apply any makeup, prep the area first with a little moisturizer. This will help even out the texture of your skin and allow the product to go on more smoothly. Put a small amount of concealer on the brush and tap it gently onto the area you are trying to cover. Always start with a small amount and build your way to the desired coverage, and remember to tap the product in. Rubbing just smears it around and takes it off, although rubbing around the edges of the spots is okay, as it will help blend in the makeup. Once you have covered your problem areas, set the concealer in place with a few pats of powder.

Also, as another reviewer said, www.makeupalley.com is a great place to check. You can do a product search for concealers and see how people who have tried them, rate them. It will help you choose the right one for you without having to waste a lot of money trying them yourself. And the boards have tons of ladies who can share their tips and tricks with you; they may even know how to help clear up your reaction in time for prom!

I hope everything works out well and you have a great time at your dance!I need a good concealer/cover up to cover my allergic reaction before prom. What should I use?
Try dermablend. It comes in all skin tones and does not rub off if you set it with the special powder that comes with it. It is also pretty inexpensive. Check it out on the Internet and buy it at a local beauty supply store. Call before you go to make sure they carry it.
Permanent makeup is highly convenient for most people. You can get up in the morning and save yourself the time and trouble of applying makeup to some portions of your face. It's a great choice for athletes as perspiration doesn鈥檛 affect tattooed makeup. You'll also note that this type of makeup is not only for the face. Those with scars or discoloration on other areas of their body can also go for permanent makeup. Color displaced during surgery like pigment of the areola, can be tattooed once mastectomy is done.
well i would just put some of that liquid waterproof cover-up on.
I would use a Mary Kay Concealer; it's not too heavy. After you apply your Concealer use a mineral foundation. Bare minerals works very well when applied the right way. You have to make sure you tap your brush after dipping it into the cap to remove the excess foundation.

P.S. Make sure you moisturize very well before applying your make-up! That makes all the difference for a smooth and cake-free application!

    Good Luck!

You should look into the Lauren Hutton Aqua Elements Loose Powder Foundation... works real well and leaves you with a very natural look.

On the Lauren Hutton site: https://www.laurenhutton.com/aqua-elemen鈥?/a> there is a section where it says something like ';determine your skin tone';... click on that link and it will bring you to another page where it explains how to choose the best color foundation for your particular skin tone.

    Hope this helps you out.
I just purchased Almay Foundation it is white and you put it on and it matches your skin tone.

I really didn't expect it to work, but I love it!

Whats the difference between concealer and foundation?

I know it goes under your eyes but wtf why not just yuor foundationWhats the difference between concealer and foundation?
Concealer is a separate kind of makeup, slightly more dense than foundation, that helps to cover blemishes, undereye circles, and other skin problems that foundation may not cover.

Foundation helps to even out the skin tone and brighten the face.Whats the difference between concealer and foundation?
    concealer is much heavier.
first of all, there are different types of concealer, and it does just what it sounds like - it conceals. If you have a blemish, it will give a thicker coverage over it. If you have undereye circles, it will help cover it.

Concealer works by either have a thicker texture than foundation, or by a different color. For example, in order to counteract redness, a concealer may have a yellow tint to it. Now, you do not want that yellow tint ALL over your face, otherwise you will look like you have jaundice.

Also, some undereye concealers have ';light reflecting pigments.'; This fancy lingo basically means that there is shiny stuff in there that will make the skin look more radient. In small doses, it is fine, but all of the face may be a bit too much.

Some concealers can be used all over the face, but that can get expensive since concealers usually cost more than foundation. And if the area you want to conceal isn't very noticeable, you can sometimes just use foundation - simply apply foundation on the blemish and surrounding area with your finger in a soft tapping motion.

Also, make sure if you DO use concealer under your eyes, you don't spread it all the way to the far corners of your eyes - this will only enhance any fine lines around the eye. Use concealer in the inner corners of the eyes, and in a very gentle motion, spread it to the middle of the eye, and blend.

    Hope this helps!
well, as for me concealer is something that I would only use to events with yellow lighting... cause concealer can look very cakey and fake under white light...

Well, foundation is a must for make up... it helps even out skin tone and helps a little with pimples(depending on which kind of foundation that you buy).

I am at my early 20s so I'll go for liquid based foundation with light coverage for a natural look, and if i need something thicker to cover up my dark circle, I'll use the dried up foundation at the tip of the bottle(It feels creamy). It doesn't work as well as a concealer but at least its natural. So i don't have to spend more money getting a good concealer that might look grayish if it doesn't matches my skin tone...
Concealer is a thing that you use for your pores ,

foundation is what you use to cover up and even out your skin
concealer has deeper coverage. not only under your eyes, but any discoloration can be obscured by concealer.

remember apply concealer first before foundation.

Is tea tree oil concealer from body shop good for blemishes?

i had a blemishes on my face from a skin infection (for 2 months) and still have blemishes. im planning to use the tea tree oil from body shop now. is it a good idea? Is tea tree oil concealer from body shop good for blemishes?
Yes! I have used this product for a year now, and it is great for hiding and preventing blemishes. You can always count on the body shop for great, natural products. The use of tea tree oil as an antiseptic has been found to be ten times more powerful than carbolic acid and yet is non-toxic and non-irritating to the skin. Being antiseptic means no infections, which helps diminish blemishes.Oily skin or acne (caused by an over production of sebum by the sebaceous glands ) and skin infections can be helped by the daily use of Tea Tree Oil. However due to using foundation on oily skin you may find that your face get shiny in the day so blotting paper does come in useful.

  • What is a good concealer for my under eye circles?

    My skin is really fair, and it looks as if the skin under my eyes are a purplish bruised color. I've been trying to blend the concealer under my eyes to make my face look flawless, but I have trouble doing so because I have these little dots under my eyes, so it comes out looking obvious that im trying to cover my eye circles, rather than looking natural and ';flawless.';

    i feel your pain.

i would recommend trying to find a really light (if possible lighter than your skin tone) stick concealer.

those seem to be the best for undereye circles.

for the best quality try a department store and ask one of the clerks for help.

if not go to a Walgreens or CVS and try CoverGirl or Maybeleen or something.

My friend has that problem. Get Biore cooling eye cream.

It honestly works wonders and you won't have to put any makeup goop all over your eyes.

It's a clear liquid gel and you just take a little dab and smooth it on your eye circles. In about half an hour, you can visibly see the huge difference.
    i use almay.

the problem is you have to make sure you don't put too much because it takes forev to blend.

also, if you put too little, it won't work.

good luck though, it works good.

What brushes should i use for applying foundation and concealer?

I'm new to this and im going to sephora in 2 days and i need to know what brushes should i get. PLEASE be SPECIFIC, down to the brush # name etc. What brushes should i use for applying foundation and concealer?
Personally, I feel the bareMinerals Get Started kit is a screaming deal. It's $60, you get three brushes that would cost about $60 if you bought them separately - so it's like you're getting all the makeup for free.

The Kabuki brush is perfect for full coverage and the concealer brush is the best I've ever used! Seriously - it camouflages my undereye circles with just the foundation powder - I don't need any Multi-tasking Minerals.

What brushes should i use for applying foundation and concealer?
this is the foundation brush i use from sephora (their brand) http://www.sephora.com/browse/product.jh鈥?/a> its also on sale right now for 10$. i love it. its used for liquid foundation.

for powders, i recommend a kabuki style brush. its also great to have for buffing out your foundation. makes everything more blended out and even.

i don't really use a concealer brush, i use my fingers but you should use a brush like this http://www.sephora.com/browse/product.jh鈥?/a> if you prefer a brush. i'm assuming you use a cream concealer? you should check out makeupforever's concealer palette (its also sold at sephora), its a little pricey but worth it. here's the link http://www.sephora.com/browse/product.jh鈥?/a>
FOundation, if youre using a loose powder, get a KABUKI BRUSH. Its a giant fluffly one.

Concealer is a small one. Usually, at Sephora, they have labels on them so you dont have to spend so much time guessing.

    The sephora brushes are amazing!

the bare Minerals Kabuki brush is really great too
I dont really know. Id ask the employees.

But for foundation, sponges work really good.
just ask the employees there they would be more than happy to help you!

What brand of makeup is the most accurate for concealer?

I want to find a great concealer that will cover up all sorts of spots and redness areas on my skin, without looking like I'm wearing too much makeup. What brand of makeup is the most accurate for concealer?
I have found mac cosmetics to conceal spots and redness without the appearance of cakey type makeup. I recently introduced a soon to be bride to mac (sold online or at department stores such as macys and sephora) and she could not believe how natural their concealer was. Did I mention the best part. You could have one of the makeup artists give you a complete make over all for free. I strongly recommend the in store trial before buying. I think MAC is the best. You can get a foundation and a concealer in the same shade.

i really have big dark circles under my eyes and they are really embarrassing! do you think i should start putting on concealer and foundation? im 15 now. and btw, if your answer is yes can you also please suggest a good concealer and foundation to use? honestly, i can't afford those $40 dollars ones. I need those non-expensive ones that work really good. Thanks :)Do you think i need to start wearing a concealer and foundation?
i understand i have the same problem im about the same age and no matter what i do sleep w/e it doesnt work i use revlon colorstay concealer just around my eyes and the littlest dab is all i need. Its only like 9dollars at the store which is perfect . Try it what could it hurt.

%26lt;3good luck and remember just a little don't overdo it.Do you think i need to start wearing a concealer and foundation?
If you want to experiment with it, try one of these 2 things

#1- find a concealer with a pink undertone, even if you have olive skin

#2- try an under eye brightener like benefit eyeBRIGHT. It will reflect light instead of trying to cover the dark with pigment. http://www.sephora.com/browse/product.jh鈥?/a>
    well if your going for a natural look only wear a little, but if you are really trying to hide them, then go for it! I recommend using the true blend conceler and liquid foundation to really hide them. But for a more settle look, try the id bare minerals. they work well and it is light so it doesn't look ';cakey';
mayballene has a mineral power set and there concealer is awesome and cheap and it comes with a mineral foundation which is good and wont clog pores!
before you waste your money on makeup, try sleeping alot and drinking alot of water.and put cucumbers on your eyes or the bags for about 15 minutes. they should go away
I agree with Audreay and Miranda.

To conceal dark circles under my eye do I have to get under eye concealer or can I use just regular concealer?

I'm having a hard time finding the right concealer for my dark circles and I was wondering if I could just use any old concealer? Also, what brands would you recommend? To conceal dark circles under my eye do I have to get under eye concealer or can I use just regular concealer?
A concealer specially made for the under eye area would be best because they have light reflectors built in. Try Almay Bright Eyes line.To conceal dark circles under my eye do I have to get under eye concealer or can I use just regular concealer?
Okay you can get a big expensive darkcircles makeup that would probably work. however in my opinion because it's usually liquid and looks a little thick and unnatural

you can use regualar powder concealer that looks more natural and is cheaper. just get it 2 or so shades lighter than your normal skin tone, apply it with a brush right on the circles blending it in until the are all gone, then take your normal foundation tone and go all over your face with it including the already applied concealer. it works perfectly.
For cheapies try Maybelline Age rewind or Revlon's Age defying spa concealer. (Around $6) And set with L'Oreal bare naturale SPF 25 concealer! (The SPF protects from UV rays which make your circles darker).

More expensive, but AMAZING ones are: TheBalm's Time Balm concealer, Laura Mercier Secret Camoflauge, Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer kit, Mally beauty concealer, Kat Von D Tattoo Concealer, or the one by Benefit Cosmetics.
I really love using the Pan Stik by Max Factor. I, as well, have problems with darkness under my eyes, but the Pan Stik can literally cover ANYTHING! I usually use higher end products such as Lancome but Max Factor really stole my heart with the Pan Stik. It's only about $6 from Wal-Mart. My friends all use it, and it works wonders! :D
Your regular concealer is heavy-duty for your tough, regular skin. The skin around the eye is super-sensitive, so yes, you do need an eye concealer. Regular concealer would look cakey and unnatural. Try Rimmel's Hide the Blemish Concealer (works for acne, too!) .
just use a lighter version of powder than your regular foundation . it works wonders!!!
you could try just using a lighter shade of foundation under your eyes.. dont make it too obvius but it usually works

I am frequently broken out what is the best concealer to hide it?

I break out alot and am wondering what concealer can hide blemishes really well without showing stuff through. i want a clean finished look. i don't care about price just quality. thanks a bunch!I am frequently broken out what is the best concealer to hide it?
i would highly recommend that you go and see a mac consultant at Macy's or Dillards. THEY DID WONDERS FOR ME! I have several moles and they actually concealed them without a heavy look, almost flawlessI am frequently broken out what is the best concealer to hide it?
I would say that you should visit a dermatologist instead of trying to use a concealer. I used to have break outs extremely bad and after awhile noticed that the break outs were exacerbated by wearing concealers and makeup. It took a lot of will power not to get embarrassed but I started to not wear make up at all and went to my dermatologist to get a prescription. I did both and found that the prescription actually wasn't needed after I stop wearing the concealers and foundation. Now my skin is even, soft, and glowing everyday and I don't have to worry about what people think of me with all of my breakouts. It is worth a try. I didn't think I would be able to go through with reconditioning my face if it meant not wearing makeup for awhile but now I'm so glad I did! Good Luck!
Ever heard of Bare and Minerals? Ulta and JC penny sells it. I have been using it for 3 years now, Love it and al it it is a powder and it covers so well. most times places that sell it will give you a fre trial and put it on your fax right then to see if you like it before you buy. You can also buy the starter kit that cost $60.00 the most maybe cheaper now. Try that.Tthey also make eye shadows and lipstick as well that Bare and Minerals make. Let me know if you like it, I love it

I'm looking for one, because when I used my make-up, it looks cakey if I smudge it or something. What face moisturizer do you use before applying foundation, concealer, and powdered foundation?
Someone recommended me to try Neutrogena Face Moisturizer Water Based and I think it works great.

xoWhat face moisturizer do you use before applying foundation, concealer, and powdered foundation?
i was reccomended clinque brand for my skin and then the dermatoligist reccomended me the 3 step from clinque for the type of my skin

it is a lil expensive but it is well worth it

    it includes of

face wash , clarifying lotion , moisturizer

it works really well xx i would reccomended it to anyone x
I use Olay Daily Fluid SPF 15 regardless of whether I am using makeup or not, however it does create a good base for makeup. I'd suggest that you purchase a primer if your makeup looks cakey or invest in a foundation brush.
i use cliniques dramatically different mosturizing lotion or korres spf 30 sunscreen face cream watermelon. the second one is expensive but very good for the skin! =)

if ur looking for cheap alternatives: olay has a good one and also Avon has these natural moisturizers for 10-15 bucks.
Definitely try a gel-based moisturizer, such as Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel (or try the drugstore dupe: Neutrogena Oil-Free Fresh Moisture). Gels are light and water-based, but they still moisturize your skin.
Mary Kay age fighting moisturizer, MK day solution, and just MK mineral powder foundation. Totally flawless.
    Aveeno Redness Reducing Lotion

it's amazing, it absorbs really fast

it doesnt have oil in it and its really light weight, I barely notice it.
i use chanel madmoselle cream but a good base will stop the make up looking cakey

Bellaphoria Supreme Elegance foundation is great for oily skin, no primer or concealer needed. It lasts all day, and is matte, doesn't look powdery either... It's also food for your skin, and healing...I will never buy anything else... http://www.bellaphoria.com
yes. infact, u should do that.

u can use a heavy liquid foundation as a concealer.
On oily skin It is better to use a powder which absorbs the oil and makes you less shiny, but these can give you less coverage. You could try foundation and then dusting powder over the top of it for a matte flawless finish!

It's fine to use concealer underneathe your foundation, I always apply my concealer before i put my foundation on, just on my problem areas which need a bit more coverage.

Personally I love benefit's Boi-ing concealer ( i use number 2_) It works fab on my skin, doesn't make me any more oily, or does it make me spotty. Give it a try!!

How to lighten, darken, warm and cool your concealer foindation?

I want to make my concealermore cool?

What around the house can I mix in?How to lighten, darken, warm and cool your concealer foindation?
To darken POWDER foundation: mix with dark/golden/light brown eyeshadow, or BRONZER.

To darken LIQUID foundation: same as up there ^, except use creams, don't use powder.

Or, I have cocoa butter moisturize that is slightly tinted. I'd add that to my moisturizer.

To make it lighter: Moisturizer, or just lighter colours of foundation/concealer (mix it together) or same as above, only with light colours.

What kind of concealer/foundation does not wear off easily?

I guess I have oily skin or something because I heard foundation comes off easier when you have oily skin...

I just need to know a lot of different brands that work fantastically.

I'm sick of my foundation wearing off at school! What kind of concealer/foundation does not wear off easily?
    Almay Clear Complexion.

I wear it everyday to school, and it doesn't wear at ALL. Also, it was designed specifically for people with oily skin.

The 2 best and most natural looking Make-up Brands:

    (And neither test on Animals!)

Best if used for Normal to Combo skin types:

    Sally Hansen Natural Beauty

    http://www.sallyhansennaturalbeauty.com/鈥?/a>

Best if used for Sensitive, Dry, or Acne Prone skin types:

    Physician鈥檚 Formula

    http://www.physiciansformula.com/en-us/d鈥?/a>

    Physician鈥檚 Formula Recommendations:

Physician's Formula Mineral Wear Talc-Free Mineral Face Powder: ~$13.00 individual, ~$20 in the 3 pack

Physician's Formula Mineral Wear Talc-Free Mineral Blush: ~$12.00 individual, ~$20 in the 3 pack

Physician's Formula Mineral Wear Talc-Free Matte Finishing Veil: ~$13.00 individual, ~$20 in 3 the pack

The 3 pack is not on the website, but I know for a fact it is sold at target. It's probably sold at Walmart, and wherever they carry physician's formula products. The colors I saw that it came in were fair, light, and medium. They probably have a tan; I just didn't see it at Target.

I have oily skin, so here鈥檚 a tip if you do, too. Just carry around the Talc-Free Matte Finishing Veil in a purse or backpack (for school or work or shopping or whatever) and apply it when you feel oily. It's 100% translucent, so it just eats the oil without looking chalky or heavy.

To me, the mineral powder and blush looked hard, like I'd have to scrape it with my powder brush, but really it comes of quite easily. Take the brush it comes with and just dab it on, it'll come off without any rubbing at all.
Hmm for oily skin, you should wear foundation primer first so foundation will last longer. Then use a non oil based foundation.( I have oily to dry skin and use Shiseido. It's pretty pricey but worth it). You must use translucent powder AFTER you put foundation on to get rid of oil and shine. But you should probably get a foundation and powder brush too. =)
its not that 100% sure that oily skin is a reason for the take off of your makeup..well, i prefer you to use MAC studio fix foundation..it is a powder formula which will zip excess oil in your face, while it looks naturally applied and is tested to make your skin clearer..week after week of use will show better results..hope that helps, even the price of that product is kinda high..haha! php 1500..
I have a T-zone face, so oily on my head dry below. I wear MAC studio fix and there concealer. They also have this spray that is good before you put on your foundation so it will stay on longer, I only have to touch up my foundation once a day with MAC.
i use maybelline cover stick. it works really good and my face is oily too! i don't use a liquid foundation, instead i use a mineral powder kind.
I have very oily skin as well, and if my makeup stays on, it ends up looking shiny and slick. I find that Maybelline's Dream Matte Mousse works really well for me.
use covergirl liquid and powder its the best

or buy concealer that matches your skin tone. How to hide concealer in pictures?
Use the same shade of your foundation. Are you blending in well? That would do better. If it is showing up in photos, may be using too much...
You should use concealer in the same shade as your skin tone, otherwise the makeup patches will be really obvious. Some makeup counters at department stores will blend concealer and foundation to match your skin tone. Then blend, blend, blend!

Avon has a fair color in their ideal shade concealer sticks. I have pale skin as well and this color works great for me! Hope this helps! What kind of concealer is good for pale skin?
    I agree with melmel.

u have to try different ones to see which ones suits ur skin ton. YSL Touche Eclat ( 1 shade 1) is very pale though. A bit pricey though.

Also, Bourjois have some light ones.
laura mercier secret concealer no.1......great stuff!!!
pretty much your concealer has to match your exact skin tone...everybody has their own skin tone so you have to find one that is for you...cause not everybody with pale skin can just go and get laura mercier concealer cause it might not work for everyone
I also have very fair skin. I use Almay Clear Complexion Light. It is awesome. It's not a stick it's in a tube, kinda like how lipgloss is. It's the best coverage and it's not too dark.

How to apply concealer for circles under your eyes?

I just bought a concealer stick for under-eye circles at target and when i put it on i still see a half circle! it covered half of it. Can somebody help me please? maybe im doing something wrong and i just don't know it..How to apply concealer for circles under your eyes?
It is starting to look cakey because you are applying too much. You should not try to erase the dark circles under your eyes, but to make them look less noticable. Just apply three dots and blend it in. I think liquid concealer would be better for your undereye circles. You can try Almay line smoothing concealer. Hope this helps! How to apply concealer for circles under your eyes?
Using a concealer brush might help blend it in. Also, apply the concealer after your foundation. I first apply my foundation all over may face, except under my eyes and wait a minute or two and then apply the concealer using the brush to the area under my eye.

The color of your concealer might also be wrong. If so, you can return it.
Is your concealer the right color?

Go to a beauty counter and get them to help you with the shade.

You don't have to buy anything, nor do you have to tell them that either.

Put a little on your ring finger in the pot

Put on your under eye circle in a dabbing motion.

Repeat to the eye until the circle is covered.

The reason you use your ring finger is because the skin under your eye is super sensitive and can rip under the top layers of skin if not dealt with gently.

    Or maybe try another brand.

    I recommend

MAC, Bobbi Brown, Revlon or Masquerade
What I do is rub the concealer under the problem area, and blend it in to your skin. Then put a pea size drop of lotion on your skin with the concealer this will make it look healthy and natural.

What exactly is the difference between foundation and concealer?

Foundation is coverage for the entire face, to help even out your color and provide a nice, even base for your makeup.

Concealer is for covering up small areas, like zits, scars, or undereye areas. It goes on first, underneath your foundation.

---%26gt;Good Luck! What exactly is the difference between foundation and concealer?
There is a huge difference. Concealer is just dabbed on dark circles, red spots, pimples, scars... little (remember small) imperfections on your face that you want to 'conceal' or cover. Foundation is applied all over the face to even out the skin tone such as evening out freckles. What exactly is the difference between foundation and concealer?
concealer is used for blimishes, bags under your eyes, or any other inperfections you have.

But foundation is used for your whole face to even everything out.

i use my concealer under my foundation and when i don't have to wear foundation i just use concealer.
foundation gives you a bit of color, is applied all over the face and can be applied to the neck too. Basically it evens out your skin..

concealer hides your spots and blemishes. makes your skin look flawless.
Concealer is used to basically conceal anything on your face that you'd like to not be seen, such as acne, scars, redness, whereas foundation is for evening your skin tone out.
concealer is used to cover blemishes and other imperfections. get it? conceal? foundation is used to even out the entire tone of your face and to get rid of redness and to serve as a foundation.
Foundation is meant to be used in the entire face to match your skin tone and make it look more toned and even, and concealer to be used on dark circles and other little marks on face.
Foundation is meant to even out your skin tone, and most people apply it to their whole face. Concealer is more for blemishes and small imperfections.
Foundation is a lighter consistency, whereas concealer products are more dense in pigments to cover problem areas, such as under-eye circles or blemishes.
foundation is meant for your whole face

while concealer is just meant for

    little imperfections

foundation evens ur skin tone and concealer hides red spots

What is a concealer that will cover up a large scar?

i have a large long scar across my cheek from a bad scratch that happened to me last year. i've tried several concealers and the scar keeps coming through and becoming visible again after a short while. please help, am quite desperate to find something that will work. What is a concealer that will cover up a large scar?
    BB creams! :)

The BB Cream, aka Blemish Balm, is the hottest beauty product in Asia right now. It has the advantages of both a makeup and skincare product. It can even out skintone, camouflage undereye circles, acne scars and add radiance to the skin without the heavy mask-like effects of a foundation.

http://lavidafashionistas.blogspot.com/What is a concealer that will cover up a large scar?
Lorac is a really thick concealer that works well but it can be a little heavy. I suggest mixing a little bit of lotion on your hand then mixing the concealer with it. Apply to your scar, and then set it with a powder to make it stay.

Also I've read Vitamin E is good for scar healing, so at night maybe you can rub a little bit of it onto the scar (NOT TOO MUCH!)
try to use a concealer that doesn't also highlight/brighten, as this can sometimes make it obvious that you are wearing concealer - it is only really good for under the eyes. benefit do two good concealers, one is a powder and is called camoflage - this might be good as you can blend it in with foundation. the other is called erase past and it doesnt rub off. one of those may work well.

I don't mind paying alot of money. Is there anywhere i can get custom made concealer?
Revlon just came out with a concealer called ';Custom Creations'; where there is a dial so you can adjust the concealer to your exact shade. It's available almost everywhere. Is there anywhere i can get custom made concealer?
I had my foundation, pressed powder and concealer custom made at no additional cost at Mineral Indulgence. They make mineral makeup for dark complexions and I use all of their products for my hair too. If you go to their website you can talk to a live customer service rep and tell them what you need. The prices are good and frequent customers get samples and free full size products. I think they are updating the site with more foundation shades so you might need to contact their customer service department to get yours customized for free. The website is http://mineralindulgence.com/
Random, no need to go that far - aularale.com/7002 has a dark cover stick that when used in conjunction w/your foundation shade (or maybe a shade darker, depending on what you're covering) will work wonderfully. It's all in the technique used.
Probably not. I mean, there could possibly be but i dont no of any places.

but if you are having trouble finding your shade, there are some make up brands that have trumatch shades that match up to 99% of ppls skin tones. id say try looking at covergirls trublend makeup or loreals trumatch makeup. good luck!
yep yep yep go the the prescriptives counter at macy*s. i had custom made foundation done it was about $70 the concealer will probably run you about $40 -$50. I really recommend it.

What Is The Difference Between Foundation and Concealer?

Hi, I'm a little behind the times, I never wear any makeup, but I want to wear my bangs up today so I need to know what I need to purchase.

I have oily skin, so is there any recommendations? What is the difference between foundation and concealer? What is the best brand for oily skin, and how much does this generally cost? What Is The Difference Between Foundation and Concealer?
Concealer is used sparringly for covering up blemishes here and there--to conceal discolorations... Foundation is full coverage that you apply to your entire face... Foundation goes on OVER concealer.

Hope that helps. :)What Is The Difference Between Foundation and Concealer?
A concealer covers imperfections. You can use it before or after foundation. A foundation evens out your skin tone. It should be the same color as your neck. Make sure to cleanse and moisturize daily. A primer will help smooth out your skin. Use it prior to applying makeup. I recommend Bare Minerals by Bare Escentuals.
Foundation is noticable, concealer kinda isn't as noticible. Foundation is for major cover up, concealer is for mild cover up.
sparrow is right. An foundation evens out skin tone more, concealer is for small places. That's why you put on concealer first: The foundation will make it blend more.
Concealer is used to hide blemishes or under eye circles, while foundation is used to even out the entire skin tone.

What is concealer, exactly? And what is the best way to apply foundation?

Also, why the hell do people feel the need to go to the makeup questions and say stuff like, ';You don't need makeup'; ';Use your natural beauty'; ';You're too young for makeup';?

If someone asks what kind of makeup they should wear then they want to know what kind of makeup they should wear.

Because they want to wear makeup...What is concealer, exactly? And what is the best way to apply foundation?
Hmm i see your point about peoples comments im 14 and i started wearing proper makeup about 2 years ago now! im not over the top about it but yes i do wear it!

Anyway concealer is like a foundation but say in a lipstick ect .. it covers blemishes and red patches scars bruises on your face maybe also heard as a cover up stick! it is actually really handy if you do not wish to cover up with say foundation!

Foundation applying depending what sort you have! if you have a matte it is pretty easy to just put on your face and rub it a little ! other more liquidy foundations i would say put a light moisturiser on 2mins before hand let it settle so its not wattery and apply foundation rubing all over face in well! The moisturiser will nutralise it down giving you a lighter and less thick cakey look !

xxWhat is concealer, exactly? And what is the best way to apply foundation?
well babes i need makeup haha i never leave the house without so i dont think its right for people to say dont use it .. everyones entitled to their opnion but you want advice not a lecture

anyways .. concealer is a light foundation that conceals spots and bumps on your face .. its really useful as some spots take a few days or weeks to get rid off. Most concealers are best bein used under foundation as this covers more.

Best way to apply foundation for me is to get a makeup sponge .. put it on and massage into the face .. if its a powder same as .. then use your fingers or a smaller sponge to rub in the lines around your eyes nose and jaw bone

    good luck babes :) xx
i put concealer on any spots or blemishes %26amp; smudge he edges in - then I use maxfactor colour adapt all over, any spots that have reappered get a bit mroe concealer add to them %26amp; smudged in by finger, then use a brush to apply a powder for a smooth matte finish.
I can see your point but other people are entitled to express their views on this site. I am not a fan of make-up and encourge people not to use it - it is a marketing man dream. Why buy into this 'rubbish'

You can do either. I would personally apply the eyeshadow right after the concealer so that it has something to ';stick'; to. But, if you'd like, you put the powder on after the concealer and before the eyeshadow.
    apply liquid foundation on lid

    apply eyeshadow

dont use powder foundation on top coz it will just make the eyeshadow go all over the place if you know what im trying to say lol

What's the difference between foundation and concealer?

I don't get it why by foundation if you have concealer and vice versa?

And why different colored concealers? Tan concealers......yellow concealers.....green concealers....blue concealers.....

What difference does it really make? :/What's the difference between foundation and concealer?
    Hey good question!.

Concealers are only necessary if you have a pigmentation problem (skin color is incorrect/blotchy) such as for example you may have red patches or dark circles under your eyes. Concealers of different colors can be used to correct these color problems.

*Yellow concealer: Used to conceal bluish bruises, under-eye circles and mild red tones on the face

*Lavender concealer: Used to normalize yellow-colored skin imperfections such as sallow complexions and yellow bruises. It can also help conceal very dark under-eye circles and dark spots on bronze skin tones.

*Green concealer: Used to neutralize red tones on the skin. Use this for covering blemishes, zits, red blotches, rosacea, port-wine stains

To understand more about corrective colored concealers to go this website :-)

    http://styles101.homestead.com/corective鈥?/a>

Foundation is used to smooth over the texture and lightly even out skin tone, it is not as heavy as conceal so generally cant correct serious coloration problems. What's the difference between foundation and concealer?
foundations and concealer are basically the same thing except foundation is for all over face inculding under eyes and concealer is just for under eye area ...y have both? well just think concealer would go awfully quick if you used the one tiny tube all over your face everyday whereas foundation comes in a bigger package /container....green i no is for like redness...but in the end the concealer gets covered and blended with the foundation any how... also im not sure what brand your working with or you may be working with cover girl ultimate finish which is excellent.. if your buying from a drug store i totally recommend purchasing at rite aid because they have acosmetics money back guarantee just save the packaging and the receipt that way if you bought the wrong color you can exchange or get a refund...oh n for your information i saw a news report that says estee lauder max factor dior mac expensive and cheap brands all have the same chemical makeup so they all are the same stuff just packaged different okay so back to your brand if your using covergirl liquid or another type of liquid foundation the crust or thick gooey part that gets stuck inside the cap of the bottle doubles as a concealer so you could ideally use that as your concealer for the eye area.....so judging from your question maybe you are just experimenting with makeup or venturing a lil deeper i strongly recommend that you pratice on days you kno you dont have to leave the house cause once you pratice you'll kno what works for you ...remeber you have to get the hang of it n you dont want to wait til the big day or a hot adate to attempt to put on the ';perfect'; face so you need to practice and see this way you whats to thick of a layer or whats to thin of a layer cause i dont want you to look cakey also make sure you dont forget to blend a little below your chin line and blend up into the hair line if your hair get a little foundation on it yopur hair will survive i just hate wen i see girls/grown women out there wearing foiundation that is streaky and so obvious........DONT FORGET THE POWDER...GOOD LUCK TO YA
Foundation is to even out skin tone and for all over the face.

Concealer is to get rid of imperfections... tan is just to cover-up. Yellow is for certain types of skin (like, Latino works best with yellow). Green is to counteract redness, and blue, uh, doesn't exist.

You'd be surprised at the difference it makes. :-P
foundation is to even out skin tone and to be used all over your face and concealer is used for extra coverage where foundation isn't enough for blemishes and such

green is to counteract redness've never heard of blue though

    :]
foundation covers all over your face like freckles, beauty marks and blotchiness(stuff that takes a long time to get rid of permentaly) while concellers covers up dark circles and pimples (stuff that is easily taken care of) I hopee that helps :D
Foundation its to even out your skin tone...and it normally goes all over your face, while the concealer you can put it under the eyes, or in a spot or a pimple.

    =D
Concealer is usually much more think than foundation, and will generally cover flaws like dark circles, or other skin imperfections better than most foundations.

What concealer to use to minimize appearance of scars?

For those with scars, what brand concealer do you use to minimize the apperance of your scars? Thanks---need a little help here! ;-)What concealer to use to minimize appearance of scars?
MAC Studio Finish Concealer is really good. It covers just about everything. The only downside is that this product costs around $18 (if I'm not mistaken) at MAC counters and stores. You can also find this product at http://www.maccosmetics.com/

If you want to look for cheaper drugstore alternatives, I suggest you try looking through Maybelline and Revlon concealers. Maybelline's Mineral Power concealer works pretty well, and so does Revlon's Age Defying Concealer.

If you want to reduce the appearance of scars, try the traditional remedy of Vitamin E. Buy it in those little rubber capsule things that you can squeeze from and apply it to your scars daily. What concealer to use to minimize appearance of scars?
Dream Matte Mousse is very good at covering scars. but if i could offer some advice, go to the store and buy some mederma. it works really well on scars, and you wont have to worry about concealer anymore!
    nuetrogena makes the best concealer

Is concealer a shade lighter or darker than foundation?

I need to get some concealer to cover up some scars left over from the chicken pox as my normal foundation doesn't cover them.

I've only ever worn foundation and then the other make up on top of that (blusher, eye shadow). I know you don't get the same shade as your foundation but I can't remember if you go a shade lighter or darker.

Can someone help please. Is concealer a shade lighter or darker than foundation?
It's usually a shade lighter because people use it under their eyes. I use a concealer pallet by makeup forever, to cover scars I would use the clay colour. Is concealer a shade lighter or darker than foundation?
Neither....it should match your natural skintone, just like your foundation. The point is to get a seamless look to blend in your imperfections, and not to look as if you're wearing makeup. If you buy it a shade lighter, you'll get the racoon/highlighted look, and if you buy a shade darker, it will only bring attention to the blemish/scar. Make sure to apply concealer after foundation, or else it will be wiped off when you apply your foundation.
    Ok

NEVER go darker. I really wouldn't recommend going lighter as well unless you are using them it for under eye (the reason you go one shade lighter for under eye is to counteract the dark circles) I would try to go to a counter to test out the shades/get color matched as it also depends on what you are trying to cover up.
concealer is one shade lighter than your SKIN color not your foundation color!!
    its usually lighter.
    A shade lighter
