I find that using a tube concealer makes it look cakey, especially when I am applying it on pimples. Also, a tube is one colour, whereas a palette gives you more options to choose from.Is a concealer palette more accurate at matching your skin tone?
A pallete is ideal in matching your skin tone because you can mix the different shades to create a custom color for you. Also, referring to the cakey look, try putting it on in sheer layers. if you just go for it and add a whole bunch of concealer it will look cakey, go little by little and build the coverage.
