How do i apply concealer and how does it show on my skin?

Do i apply it with my fingers or a brush or i dont no? Also like i see alot of yellow , green and colored concealers , like while it show that color on my face or will it blend or how would it show on my face ?How do i apply concealer and how does it show on my skin?
Use your finger, and pat it onto the blemishes until its all been patted into your skin.

Yellow concealers/colour correctors are used to hide bluish coloured blemishes, under eye circles and bruises.

Green concealers/colour correctors are used to hide red blemishes (i use Physicians Formula green colour corrector on my red cheeks)

And purple concealers/colour correctors are used to hide yellow toned blemishes such as sallow complextions and blemishes on bronze skin tones.

When applying any colour corrector, like concealer, you pat it onto your face, and it's not recognizeable, even if you don't wear foundation. I would suggest foundation over the top though, to even out your skin tone.

Before applying foundation don't forget to exfoliate, moisturize, wait 10 minutes, applying your coloured concealer and then apply your foundation. Following with normal skin-coloured concealer and powder if you wish. How do i apply concealer and how does it show on my skin?
blend it with ur fnger. concealer blends to match ur skin tone, so don't worry coz it won't show on ur face :)

What is the best kind of make up foundation and concealer?

I have tried different kinds and I don't think Im pleased yet. I need something that wont rub off and will last all day and keep my face looking soft. Something very light not heavy feeling. What is the best concealer to cover up dark circles? What is the best kind of make up foundation and concealer?
Hello kms,

How are you? My name is Cassandra Lane, I am a Certified Beauty Advisor with Avon. I recommend Avon's BEYOND COLOR Skin Smoothing Compact Foundation. Here is the description:

Instantly skin looks %26amp; feels firmer %26amp; more radiant. Smoothes on with creamy full coverage, dries to a soft powder finish. Evens out skin tone. .31 oz. net wt.

For the best concealer that covers dark circles, I recommend Avon's IDEAL SHADE Concealer Stick. Here is the description:

The perfect cover-up. Seamless, skin-true, full coverage. Visibly conceal under eye circles %26amp; blemishes. Preciselight Technology.

Eyes look tired? Gently pat concealer along under eye circles from inside out, then blend. Now you're out-the-door ready with spot-on confidence. .07 oz. net wt.

Beauty Tip by Jillian Dempsey...To cover dark under eye circles, choose a concealer shade a touch lighter than your natural skin tone. But don't go too light...or you'll spotlight the area you want to conceal and end up with raccoon eyes. There's a buy1, get1 half off sale going with this item. What is the best kind of make up foundation and concealer?
My favorite concealer is between Rimmel Hide-the-Blemish concealer, and MAC Studio Fix. Both cover under eye circles and minor imperfections amazingly well and since they have a creamy consistency, they don't budge throughout the day.

Are you looking for a liquid foundation? mineral? whipped? cream? For liquid I recommend Revlon ColorStay. It's tons cheaper than high end brands but is just as good. It's got a huge variety of shades and formulas and medium to full coverage. For whipped, I like CoverGirl Tru Blend whipped foundation. For mineral, I strongly recommend Maybelline Mineral Power.
I swear by Maybelline Liquid Minerals, it goes on really well and is kind to your skin, plus i like the fact that it's liquid rather than those annoying powdered mineral foundations. It doesn't contain talc or oil like most foundations, resulting in dry or greasy skin. Eurghhh

As for concealer, you really cannot beat Touche Eclat by YSL. It's expensive, but really worth the money. I got it on special offer so i bought two! seriously, you just whack it on under your eyes and it instantly brightens them and makes you look as if you've had 8 hours sleep even if you've been up all night.

Try looking for it on ebay, or on discount beauty sites such as www.beautyrocket.com, you might just get lucky!

Best of Luck! xx
Not really sure what I would recommend to you. There are so many products out there so what I end up doing is starting with the less expensive and trying out several products. The review site is pretty good at http://www.brandsmakeup.com visit and see what everyone recommends.
it depends on what type of skin you have and wat color it is. do u have dry skin, oily, combonation, or pimply?

The Medicated Blemish Concealer by Bee-Luscious for your blemishes. It is a combination medicated and cover-up concealer. All natural and works great.

Hydra-Bright Line Diffuser also from Bee-Luscious is made just for the under-eye circles.

Also since your screen name is love lip gloss. You should try their Lip Tox Sheer. It has real diamond dust in it and I absolutely love it.

I have used many different kinds from expensive to cheap. And what I keep going back to, because it works so good for me is...NYC concealer(super cheap). I use the light %26amp; they also have a green one for red spots under foundation. Looks like a tube of lipstick I got mine at Target, I believe it's at Ulta 3 too.
i love bare minerals multi tasking bisque, it works great on dark circles.

What is the best concealer for dark circles?

Dark circles runs in my family so i have come to accept that there is no product that will completely hide my dark circles. I have tried M.A.C studio fix but it creases on me even with a primer so that was a waste of $15. I need a really good concealer that i can buy at a local store such as target, walmart, rite-aid, Walgreen's, avon etc. It also needs to be under $10What is the best concealer for dark circles?
Honestly, dark circles are very difficult to get rid off. Being a chronic insomniac, i can totally relate!

I find cover up usually works, I use Revlon's. Nothing too expensive, just buy a shade lighter than you usually wear, and sometimes that'll do the trick.

If you want to be more old schooled, applying aloe lotion under your eyes really soothes the puffiness, as well as some of the darkness, and I've heard tea bags can do the same. but i'm not sure.

If your circles are from sleep though, sleep is the best solution. But i hope those other suggestions help. Good luck :)What is the best concealer for dark circles?
    Your Answer:

I haven't found an Avon concealor that I love yet, but I have found a product that does a really good job of reversing my dark circles. It's the Avon Alternative Eye Cream.

I just tried it recently because I got it in a bundle for just $15. It's regular price is $25, and it's available on the Avon website. They routinely have specials where you can get a discount.

I honestly didn't think it would do anything, but one week later, I'm using less concealor.

The Avon concealor I'm testing now is the Beyond Color, only $7 at full price. It has a little paintbrush and goes on wet then dries quickly. Very blendable and buildable. Doesn't run or crease. But it was too light of coverage for me. Until now. By combining the Anew Alt. Eye Cream and the Beyond Color concealor, I'm getting a positive result.

But I still plan to give the other Avon concealors a try.

I've read good things about the Ideal Shade concealor, which is only $6 full price and is often on sale for less.

One product that really works for absorbing light is the Avon Magix. When I don't where makeup, I do wear Magix. Only $10 full price, many reps use this product as their concealor.

I am an Avon rep but I don't sell products through this ID.
Physicians Formula works well, the trick to getting rid of dark circles is to put a base coat of a greenish concealer on (link shown below) because the color counteracts the reds and purples which appear in dark circles. Once the green base is put on, put a skin tone concealer on it and that should take care of them! Physicians formula make up is usually sold at convenience stores.

What is the best concealer to brighten under eyes?

I use Maybelline liquid for blemishes but when I put it under my eyes it is too heavy and accentuates the lines. Plus the color makes me look weird, kind of washed out. What concealer is good to cover just a little darkness, not a lot, and brighten up the eye area?

Make sure you choose the right colour for your skin tone. I suggest Maybelline Age Rewind Concealer or Minneral concealer for a more natural look. It works for me and hope it does for you too.

Check out the brand Clientele, which is available online, at Nordstrom, or Neiman's. It's about $30 and lasts forever. Comes with a small brush. Excellent product for hiding dark circles, blemishes, scars, etc.
I use Hide It concealer in the yellowish color from LAminerals. com. Then I put my mineral foundation on my face, and over the concealer to blend it all in. Looks great, and no dark circles.

I got my samples for like $1 and they shipped em free.

THe concealer is a mineral powder, but feels really creamy, and a lil goes a long way. It's really water/sweat repellent too.

Can someone recommend a concealer that will cover a raised lesion?

What I'm looking for is something that actually has the body to fill in the area around my skin lesion. It is raised above my skin--not far, but enough that regular makeup just catches in the edges and accentuates it. I have tried a bunch, at considerable expense. Is there any such product out there? Can someone recommend a concealer that will cover a raised lesion?
If you're lighter skinned, give Dermablend a try. If you're olive or darker, try Posner Cover Creme (I use this daily in Light, works great for hyperpigmentation, and it's thick enough if you need to fill in anything.) Posner is a line for darker skin tones, and starts at a shade close to Cover Girl's Soft Honey.

You can also look on theatrical makeup sites, such as Ben Nye. They most likely have something that will work, and it's similar in consistency to the Posner cream. Can someone recommend a concealer that will cover a raised lesion?
    Have you tried dermablend?

Clinique - can't remember the exact name, but it's sweatproof and I think the name has the word ';sport'; in it
I get my powder at kohls. It works the best for me. It's called Flirt.

What's the correct way to apply liquid foundation and concealer?

My foundation always come out blotchy and the concealer never really covers any pimples and it creates dry patches on my face. How do I fix these things? What's the correct way to apply liquid foundation and concealer?
Use a makeup sponge to apply foundation for a clean and even coverage.

If you have some pimples try Neutrogena Skin Clearing Oil Free Makeup

Purpose: It is oil free so it won't clog pores and worsen acne. It also helps to conceal redness. I love this one especially because it is affordable and contains salicylic acid, one of the most effective pimple-fighting ingredient.

For dry skin try Almay TLC Truly Lasting Color 16 Hour Makeup Skin Nourishing Longwear SPF 15

Purpose: It comes in a cream-like texture and contains antioxidants to make up for the lost H2O in your skin. Your skin will look non-greasy and moisturized the whole day.

As for concealer...what I use is the foundation I put on. I know this sounds strange but if you take a little bit on your finger and blot it several times on you pimple it actually hides it and it blends into your face. What's the correct way to apply liquid foundation and concealer?
Shake your foundation and concealer before you squeeze it out of the tube, that way when it's out, it's uniform throughout. Squeeze it onto the back of you hand before applying onto your face, that way, it will warm up the foundation or concealer a little bit, so it's not junky and dry.

Always apply moisturizers before apply any concealer or foundation, so it sets as good base and smooth texture. For liquid foundation, I prefer using a facial sponge or sponge wedges or a foundation brush. (that goes to concealers as well). I sometimes use a plastic bottle filled with water and spray a little on my face after I applied the foundation and then smooth it out more, that way, it will be less drying and smoother.

There are also products that are great for these kind of things like the MAC fix + spray and finishing sprays for makeup.

    Hope that helped!
Before putting makeup on you should always wash %26amp; moisturize it so your face is fresh and manageable

if your foundation comes out like that, maybe you should try a different brand. I use MAC Studio Fix and I love it!! but for any liquid foundation, you should shake it good. If you're using a foundation sponge to apply it, shake the foundation out onto the sponge or onto the back of your hand, then dab it onto your face in sections. If you're using a brush, put the foundation on the back of your hand or a plastic container and dab the brush into it, then dab it on your face %26amp; brush on in little circles.

Then you should always use a powder over your face when the foundation is dry, it gives you better coverage and sets the foundation to stay on all day! just use a powder brush and brush all over your face :)
Try a diff brand. Revlon is great and cheap and surprisingly good quality. Try using their foundation n powder in 1 kit. It works like heavy-coverage foundation but comes in a compact and moisturizes. For liquid foundation- dot it on ur nose, cheeks, forehead, chin...the simply connect the dots and blend. Also, u gotta find the right color- ie one that blends well w/ur skin tone.

Whats the difference between concealer and foundation?

Can u substitute each other? i always use foundation in the morningg.Whats the difference between concealer and foundation?
foundation is like a bass color. it gives you a solid color for working on. much like when painting on a canvas.

concealer is like a cover up. when you write say your pen explodes on the page. then you use some white out,to mask it. if you ever get a pimple, you mask it with concealer.

Hope this explained it all.Whats the difference between concealer and foundation?
Foundation is generally used to cover your entire face for general imperfections and to matte your skin. Concealer is for small spots, like pimples, old acne scars, or other blemishes. I also use it for dark circles under my eyes too.
concealer is to cover up certain spots that need extra covering, foundation goes on after concealer is applied if needed.

Foundation is used all over the face in general but concealer is basically just touch up.
    Concealer; covers imperfections, pimples, scars...etc

Foundation; Is used for your whole face, to give a light layer of coverage
If you don't have heavy discoloration under your eyes, or lots of hyper pigmentation/acne, using just a foundation is fine.

Concealer is more pigmented, but not as heavy as foundation. Since the skin around the eyes is so thin, you need a product that is not heavy, but that will last. You wouldn't want to use concealer all over your face, it would look too heavy.

Foundation is generally lighter in texture because you are going to use it all over your face (Cream foundations would probably be closest in consistency to a concealer).
Foundation is to blend in w/ ur skintone (to put all over ur face), and concealer is for the hard-to-conceal spots and blemishes like red marks, etc.
concealer is mostly used to hide blemishes or undereye circles and

foundation is used to even out skin tone and maybe give u a little tan on ur face! u dont have to use both... but usually if ur gonna use one, i would use foundation... hope that helps

http://www.bellasugar.com/1802965What is the best concealer and foundation to use when you want a natural look?
Bare Minerals. The foundation matches up to your complexion and since it is mineral based, it blends easily and gives you a natural glow. They use a smaller brush and you use your foundation as a concealer and it really covers it up perfectly. It is barely noticeable that you have anything on, but gives you a ';put-together'; look that is very natural.
Bare Minerals foundation and Mineral Veil. If you don't like mineral makeup, try mixing your regular foundation with a little moisturizer and applying it with a foundation brush. As for concealer, you only need to apply it where you are red or have blemishes, and the best way to get a natural look is by applying it with a concealer brush.
Lauren Hutton has great foundation and concealer, which is very natural looking, not that caked on look.. I hate that!

There is a great concealer kit, I use it everyday... you are able to find which concealer is best for your skin tone from a chart you are provided with. If you're interested in taking a look, here's the link: http://www.laurenhutton.com/concealerkit鈥?/a>

As for foundation.. Lauren Hutton has a great one. It's called Weightless Foundation, and it's the best foundation I've ever used. It is so light (weight wise) and goes on with a very natural look. Again there are different shades for your skin tone... you can take a look at it here: http://www.laurenhutton.com/foundation-m鈥?/a>

i would say, concealer cannot make skin look made up unless you put alot on.

If you want a medium coverage and something that covers spots %26amp; imperfections.

I would say to use BB (blemish balm) cream. its a main source product from asia.

originally from germany for post plastic surgery patients, to cover up scars gently to make the skin look more attractive.

    I own a bb cream

and its great, works as a concealer %26amp; light foundation

does not give full coverage though.

but if you want a more perfect coverage i would set it with powder after.

I use the BONSKIN BB cream

its used for everybody, like a medicated cream tinted.

and it blends. makes your skin look dewy with lusture.

you can get it from Ebay very cheaply, cheaper than any foundation (i have found)

    Good luck
Maybelline New York's mineral foundations. They're called Mineral Power Natural Perfecting Liquid Foundation and Mineral Power Natural Perfecting Powder Foundation, and not only do they provide quite good cover without having to use too much, they have a really nice, luminous finish, and they're oil, talc and fragrence free which will prevent your pores from becoming clogged, causing breakouts.
I've been searching high an low for concealers and have found one im happy with. In the day i tend not to wear foundation so use concealer but found it difficult to find one that matched my skin.

I used Bobbi Brown creamy concealer, comes in loads of shades isnt too thick and isnt too thin. Comes with a powder to set it and stays on.

What is the best concealer for red skin with mild acne?

I have mild acne in my T-Zone, but my cheeks are flawless. The pores around my nose are HUGE, I want to conceal acne scars, pimples, darkspots, and REDNESS-what is the bets concealer for this?

BARE MINERALS!!!!! it is BY FAR the best out there! it never looks cakey and your face pretty much looks airbrushed without having to wear alot at all. also the maximum coverage brush is like a magic wand on blemishes! use it with the multipurpose bisque and you will fall in love I PROMISE!What is the best concealer for red skin with mild acne?
Heres a tip on making you're pores around you're nose smaller just hold ice on them it works and do this before you apply make up. COLD closes pores Hot opens them so when you wash you're face first apply apply hot water wash you're face then Ice immediately after ward and then apply an oil free moisturizer a good ones Aveeno ultra calming moisturizer . As far as foundation goes bare minerals is fantastic but it's not cheap but it's not to pricey it's about 25 dollars just buy the powdered foundation make sure to get the right tone you can buy it from Sephora. If you are going to go for something cheaper then i suggest getting an oil free powdered foundation because liquids tend to cause breakouts. To conceal redness buy a green toned cover up and apply this to the problem spot and then put the powdered foundation over it. Good LUCK!
I have basically the same problem as you- my skin is very fair and my cheeks are always fairly patchy and reddish.

Bare minerals works pretty well, you just need to be very careful with which color you choose as i've learned from experience :)... anyway other than that in my opinion bareminerals gets fairly oily, and i wouldnt recommend it if you have some acne issues.

I use this liquid foundation by neutrogena, it has like SPF 20 and like natural soy or something in it, but I use that than any especially bad spots like under the eyes or blemishes I perfect with Clinique packed powder.

    Hope this helps, good luck!
For mild acne patients, it is recommended that they clear their face of the excess oil. Sebum, or the oil produced by the skin oil glands, is recognized as the main cause of acne outbreaks along with other internal body system factors. Ideally, the face must be washed twice a day with mild soap or cleanser. Excessive washing may be more harmful than good as this action may spread the infection to other parts of the skin.Log on to http://tipsfromruby-acne.blogspot.com/ for a few home made tips to heal acne .

What is the difference between a foundation and a concealer?

I always see different words on the packages and then it spoken about differently but it all looks that same to me. What鈥檚 the difference between one wet make-up and the next? What is the difference between a foundation and a concealer?
Foundation in liquid form can help your face have an air-brushed appearance by evening out skin tone (blotchiness, light freckles, some darkness under eyes, etc.). Foundation is also lighter in weight - it shouldn't be very thick, so that it can easily spread over your skin, while still showing your natural color through. Concealer is much thicker - a very concentrated version, usually lighter than your foundation color that you can use on very dark spots or areas, as mentioned by the other answers. It shouldn't allow much, if any, color through. Hope that helps! What is the difference between a foundation and a concealer?
Concealer is used to cover things like blemishes, circles under your eyes, and dark spots. Foundation is used on the entire face. You can apply concealer under or over the foundation, but I prefer under.
A concealer is usually thicker, and would look very caked on were you to use it as a foundation.
Foundation is a base. You put it all over your face to even out skin tone, and make your skin look better. There are tons of types- compact, liquid, cream, etc. Some moisturize, some give a matte finish, some even combat pimples. On top of foundation, you put concealer. Creamy concealer (usually comes in a tube) is generally for the undereye area. A thicker concealer (stick or paste) is used most often for blemishes. Foundation evens everything out, and concealer covers any problem areas.
Ok so here we go. lets start with concealers. concealers are to cover up small blemishes like under eye bags and pimples usually concealers are liquid just because they go on smoother. now a foundation is to go all over your face to make your skin tone look smoother and it can come in liquid or powder liquid,to me, looks more caked on but powder looks more natural good luck
Foundation is for overall face, and concealer ';conceals'; any imperfections in the skin. Put concealer on first and then foundation over top for the best result.
    concealer is thicker
Concealer is for ';spots'; coverage - like is you have a zit or dark undereye circles.

Foundation fills in wrinkles and such and gives your face a flawless looking complection.
    foudnation is like wrinkles.

    concealer is like zits
The answer is in the names. Foundation is more liquidy and acts as a base for the whole face. You use it to even out skin tone or make your skin look smoother. Concealer hides blemishes, like zits or pimples, freckles, and, most commonly, dark circles. Concealer comes in sticks, wand applicators, or pots.
Foundation is to make your skin tone look even and flawless. However, if you have a blemish, the foundation won't hide that so you blot some concealer on. :)
Foundation is what you wear under your make-up. Concealer is what you use to cover up or ';conceal'; blemishes or pimples.

What's the best way to apply under-eye concealer?

I moisturise, then apply the concealer and pat it in with my finger but it never looks natural, and if I pat it in more to make it look natural, it disappears! Is there a better way to do it?What's the best way to apply under-eye concealer?
well first of all dont apply it in front of a magnified mirror. stand in front a regular one to ensure that it looks natural. make sure your undereye concealer is a bit lighter than you natural skin tone. one thing that helps with good application is a concealer brush. trust me. i usually dont like spending money on brushes but for this task it really helps. aslo, try a different concealer. if you're using liquid, try powder (like bareminerals concealer by bare escentuals), or vise versa.

    good luck

hope this is helpful =)What's the best way to apply under-eye concealer?
it is kind of supposed to dissapere you dont want to look fake
    Same happens to me,

    I think I need a more expensive one =]
I've always heard that you should apply concealer after you apply your foundation. That way it stays better and does a better job concealing.

Now if you don't wear foundation, then maybe you are applying it too soon after moisturizing. Also maybe you should try a powder concealer, the consistency might work better for you.
You definitely need to use a concealer brush. It comes in big and small but I personally think the big one blends better. Plus you can use it on your lids and also for applying cream eyeshadow.
Sometimes, i pat it in gently with my fingers, but i understand what you mean - the application isn't always even this way, and it does tend to disappear too. I would suggest that you use a small brush instead. You can apply some concealer to the back of your hand, and then dip the brush in a bit, and slowly make small strokes under your eyes (or wherever u need it), and then pat a bit with fingers. I also use this method when i apply concealer to my lids before eyeshadow. For me, it makes it more even looking. I hope this helps!

Have any of you girls ever used the green concealer stick that is supposed to conceal reddish tone spots?

I've tried a yellow concealer stick before (conceals any bluish tones, like under your eyes) and I was wondering if the green kind actually makes any difference, or shows up green.Have any of you girls ever used the green concealer stick that is supposed to conceal reddish tone spots?
It probably works. I've got some greenish correction powder i use to use before I got fulltime on smokymountainminerals %26amp; got the red out of my face/complexion. There's a primer in some that's greenish too %26amp; it should work like mine did.Not very expensive at all.Have any of you girls ever used the green concealer stick that is supposed to conceal reddish tone spots?
    It does show up green.

    VERY green.

And, actually, in my experience, and in makeup artists' experience as well, coloured concealers should not be used. Period. It shows up as the colour, and then over top you put skin coloured foundation. Do you really think no one can't notice that random 'cake' of colours you have? You may be trying to cover a blemish up, but instead, you've highlighted it and made it more unsightly.

Sure, green get's rid of the red.

... but now you have green.
No, don't use it. It just makes you look like you have a greenish cast to your face no matter how carefully and evenly you try putting it on. But I guess you will want to try it and see for yourself.

I wish I knew what to use too. I find that even regular concealer doesn't quite look right on reddish skin. That's why when I can afford to someday, I want to just get laser treatment to get rid of the redness for good.
Hi. I haven't tried it yet, but I was at a skin care party last week and the consultant said it really does work. She didn't happen to have any on her to try, but she assured my friend it does work. I know the consultant and she's not a pushy, in it for the sales type person. I would give it a try if I were you.
the green concealer is meant to be used under a foundation type makeup, For non makeup coverage, try the skin toned concealers.
Yeah, I just bought some recently (I think it was Eucerin brand) and it actually works. It doesn't make you green - it blends in and diminishes the redness.
its amazing. i really like it. go cheap and get the NYC kind it's a whole foundation kit and it works really well

  • What kind of concealer is a very good kind and one that you recommend?

I need a concealer; I have been trying to find a good one for a while but failed to do so...also not to expensive. It is for my dark circles and blemishes? any suggestions? What kind of concealer is a very good kind and one that you recommend?
you should get the Maybelline Mineral powder concealer is so awesome it cover everything you want scars, blemish, redness I have 3 months using it works great very nice sheer doesnt look cakey also it last a fair amount a time cost $8 .What kind of concealer is a very good kind and one that you recommend?
I swear by Cover girl Aqua smooth. They sell it at Walmart for like 8 dollars. It's amazing. Goes on smooth, blends well, and covers blemishs and under eye circles really really well. And you never get the cakey look like with some foundations. Give it a shot :)
The best one out there is BeautiControl. You may email me at kellrenner@yahoo.com and we can get some ordered up for you. I use it everyday and it covers my circles. It is not expensive either.
Rimmel London hide-the-blemish concealer! I love it!
    Maybelline Cover Stick.
    I like the Covergirl stick.
Rimmel! I love the stuff, it goes on so smooth. use the liquid, not powder

What type of concealer would work best with my skin?

I have blonde peach fuzz on my face - haha its not noticeable but if I wear powder makeup it is. and im sure as hell not going to wax or shave my face...I also have red pigment tones. I would like to cover the pink in my nose and cheeks as best as possible. I really want nice even covered skin but can't seem to find the right makeup and its starting to become expensive! please help!

What foundation and concealer should I use?

I'm 15 and my skin isn't too bad but it's kind of yellow in some places and my eyes always look tired and puffy. I really want to make my skin an even colour and flawless looking. Any ideas for foundation and concealer? Preferably tinted moisturiser, I've heard that Lara Mercier is good. I've already tried the body shop, doesn't work. What foundation and concealer should I use?
Laura Mercier is very good, I use the oil free version and find it works best if I use the primer underneath. Expensive though.

At 15 I'd recommend using a good foaming cleanser and very light moisturiser or serum (not both) at night, this should brighten your skin tone. Try an eye gel in the mornings for the puffiness, Vichy do a good one.

Personally I'm not keen on undereye concealers. After a while they just look cakey and make the skin look more uneven and blotchy. What foundation and concealer should I use?
Maybelline 'Dream' mousse is really good because it covers you up good and proper and also you dont get foundation lines and can just put it in certain places, not all over your face. The only thing with foundations, you have to get them off properly with makeup removers or your spots will increase.

Why does my concealer look bad in sunlight?

Whenever I go out into sunlight and take a mirror, my concealer looks so noticeable. So does the rest of my makeup, a little.

You can see cracks and lines under my eyes. I always put on my face primer and my eye cream. It looks better than before but it still looks bad in sunlight but not under the light in my house.

Help? Why does my concealer look bad in sunlight?
Okay, so either A. it is not the right color for you, or B. you are applying it too thick, or C. it isn't a quality brand.

A good way to test what color is good for you with concealer is to take some on your finger and draw a line of it from your jaw bone to your neck. Try this with numerous colors (pink undertones, yellow undertones) and see which blends the best.

When you apply concealer you want to ';stipple'; it in. A little goes a loooong way so take a tiny bit on your finger and dab it on the zit or problem spot. Stippling is dabbing it in repeatedly, and you want to do that until it blends in as much as possible.

Now, if your using a cheaper brand, thats fine. Its okay to use affordable brands, but when it comes to foundation and skin tone products its better to splurge on something more expensive if it saves you from looking like a cake. I use Mary Kay Cosmetics and could not live without them! A great way for a natural look after you apply concealer is to use a mineral powder foundation. It is the most natural and light looking foundation that I have found. And if you feel like it doesn't last throughout the day, it's a piece of cake to reapply it!

I hope you consider some of this, and that I helped!

:DWhy does my concealer look bad in sunlight?
Well, makeup is makeup and it will be noticeable, especially in the natural light of day. There is a special makeup applicator called a Beauty Blender that you can order from the Beauty Blender website or Sephora. It is a pink non latex sponge that you wet and then blot out the excess water before applying foundation.

They have a couple of special techniques that help you achieve a much more natural look and it will leave a matte finish.

You can also use it for concealer application as well. I use one myself actually and get compliments on my complexion all the time! Hope this helps.
Its noticeable because you're using the wrong color and its poor quality. I would recommend trying a good quality cosmetic brand, like Clinique, Shiseido, Estee Lauder, Smashbox, etc..... and ask the salesperson to match the concealer to your skintone (without you wearing any makeup), then go out into natural sunlight and check in a mirror to make sure the color matched your skintone, because the artificial indoor light can make colors look different than they do in natural light.
Well firstly, no one looks perfect under direct sunlight especially if you look close. You have to remember also that you tend to squint a little outdoors which could be why you have the lines outdoors but not in.

I too have a concealer problem though either its too heavy or too light. As for shade, i use a very light one. The lighter the concealer the better one looks.

I would like some help on this one though.
Always buy a concealor that is the same color as your hand not face. Also, try putting on your makeup near a window.. cause the lighting in your house is way different from nature lighting. The lighting in your house always makes your skin look a little lighter and smooth.
It is the wrong shade and possibly texture for your skin. Sometimes you can find things that have different kinds for different types of skin.
You should put on your makeup using sunlight. Put it on in your room next to the window instead of the bathroom. That way you can tell right away if you blended correctly. I hope I helped!

Is it possible to get caught wearing eye concealer?

I'm a guy and I'm planning to use an eye concealer for my under eye dark circles. I'm not gay or anything..., but I just want to look better. Is it possible to get caught wearing eye concealer?
First, you need to make sure the color matches with your skin. Then just make sure that you blend in the concealer fully and maybe even use light strokes to get a youthful effect.

*** TIP: if you really want to conceal the dark circles blend the concealer with a pink tone so that your dark circles dont appear greenish from a distance. Is it possible to get caught wearing eye concealer?
not really, although you have to buy one that blends good, doesn't smudge off, and really matches your skin tone.

one of my guy friends uses it and i didn't even know until he told me. no one else could tell.

lol that's not gay, it's brave to admit it.

Try Sonia Kashuk's Hidden Agenda Concealer Palette from Target. The palette comes with 4 cream concealers; each concealer has a different purpose. The concealer to treat under-eye circles is the salmon-colored concealer. It blends in and conceals the dark circles amazingly. Plus, the palette is a mere $10.

  • What does the concealer you put on your eyes do?

I have been watching this person on youtube. She(RicoLovesMAC) does make-up tutorials and she always puts eye concealer on. What does that do and where can i find one in stores? What does the concealer you put on your eyes do?
I assume the 'concealer' is a primer, or something that she uses as a base for her lids. It basically helps to prevent creasing of your eyeshadow and make it more vibrant.

You can find SO many primers in like, any store seriously now adays, but the one that I still think is the best is Urban Decay's Primer Potion. The bottle itself sucks, but the product is like my only holy grail item.

Another one you could try is one by MAC, I don't know the name though and I've never tried it. Their um.. paint pots? or something I think... Or paint canvas? Not sure, it's in some tube that looks like a reallllly mini toothpaste. It worked for my lids for like a year, year and a half, then it all of a sudden started to crease my shadows regardless of what brushes I used or how much shadow I used. What does the concealer you put on your eyes do?
If you don't notice that you need it, chances are - you don't.

Concealer covers up imperfections you may have on the skin ie; dark spots %26amp; pimples etc. Watch for the kinds that are very dry, they pull your skin %26amp; the really oily kind will run off. Mineral kind sometimes will clump also. If you don't have dark circles or laugh lines, you probably don't really need it.
It is supposed to make wrinkles go away. You can get it at any store that sells make up.
well it covers the dark circles underneath your eyes.. you can get some at macy's, or even pharmacies ; )
I watched a few and she uses MAC paint pot as a primer for the shadow. It keeps it from creasing and fading.

What is the difference between eyeshadow primer and concealer?

I was just wondering if you could use normal concealer or just even cover up as an eye primer instead of paying big bucks for an actual eye primer? What is the difference between eyeshadow primer and concealer?
Concealer works great as an eyeshadow primer substitute, but if you want it to last longer, than use eyeshadow primer.

I use concealer as my ';primer.'; It only lasts for about 8 hours though, but I'm okay with that, because I don't need to be with make-up for 8 hours. :)

What is the best and most long lasting concealer?

I have fair and dry skin and I want a creamy or liquid concealer that can cover redness on my cheeks but still look natural. Thanks! What is the best and most long lasting concealer?
Do you want a concealer or a foundation? I'm a little confused. they have cream concealer, but I don't like it, its too hard to get it onto your problem spots. I prefer a stick. Maybelline Pure is what I use, concealer, foundation, and powder. They all work well on dry skin and fair skin. I'm very pale. Plus they are oil-free. Always use a moisturizer before you apply sny make-up, it will make the make-up last longer. What is the best and most long lasting concealer?
You don't want concealer. That is more for dark circles and blemishes. You may want to try a tinted moisturizer. You really need to be using a moisturizer daily and if you are looking to blend your skin tone a tinted moisturizer is a way to combine the steps. Cosmedicine is a fabulous line. They make a matte tinted moisturizer that works wonders. A bit costly but worth it. Ulta and Sephora both carry it.
I'm a model but I don't have the clearest skin, but I promise the best thing you can put on your face and it's better than everything even all the products at Sephora. It’s the Dream Liquid Mousse from Maybelline; you can get it at any drug store! Even Publix. Click the link to see what it looks like http://www.polyvore.com/cgi/img-thing?.out=jpg%26amp;size=l%26amp;tid=5386928 I have red cheeks and big pores and this completely covers it and does not make my skin break out! It even says on the bottle – “for an airbrushed look” and it really does! It costs around seven dollars, it really depends where you buy it.

if you get a maybelline or covergirl concealer they work great. Is it okay to use a cream concealer under my foundation? Or is a liquid concealer better?

I bought the Benefit's boi-ing today. I already have the Benefit's Hello Flawless pressed powder foundation. So is it okay if I apply my cream concealer first then the powder foundation? I see most people always using liquid concealer and then applying either pressed powder or liquid foundation, but never cream. concealer should go on top of foundation...

if you put it on first, you rub it off when you apply the foundation

    steps:

    1. primer

    2. foundation

    3. concealer

    4. setting powderIs it okay to use a cream concealer under my foundation? Or is a liquid concealer better?
Cream or liquid concealer works under foundation. Cream is basically the same thing, just make sure you blend it in. If anything, foundation on top helps because it sets the concealer and keeps it long-lasting.
Just use liquid foundation. Or else you would have alot on.

And people notice foundation. I mean we have this girl who I know and she puts on alot of foundation and people make fun of her and call her fake. So just dont put on alot.
    yes! put cream first

Kryolan's Dermacolor range. They manufacture stage make-up and is the best. It doesn't clog your skin's pores - in fact it is good for it - and doesn't come off in the rain; swimming; sweating.

Well foundation should match your skin tone, or else you will look fake. They have that smart foundation now or whatever so maybe you could try that. Powder more than likely won't do very well for dark circles, that is what concealer is for, which should also match your skin tone so it doesn't look different from the rest of your face. For that, you just put a little dab of it on the dark circles under your eyes and blend it in. =)
Not really sure what I would recommend to you. There are so many products out there so what I end up doing is starting cheap and trying out several products. The review site is pretty good at http://www.brandsmakeup.com visit and read the reviews.

Does green concealer really work to hide the bags under your eyes?

Im wearing concealer from a green stick under my regular makeup and im just not seeing a difference. why is it supposed to work better? I know it has to do with pigment or something..I just dont get it.Does green concealer really work to hide the bags under your eyes?
Green isn't for dark circles, it's for blemishes. Green cancels red, yellow cancels purple (dark circles), it has to do with the color wheel. Colors that are opposite neutralize each other. Use a yellow-based concealor. I use bare escentuals well-rested, which is yellow toned but looks natural once on. I use the BE light stroke brush and the dark circles totaly disappear!Does green concealer really work to hide the bags under your eyes?
    yellow not green
A salmon coloured makeup works best, believe it or not (if you're white). You want something a little yellow to counter the dark colours underneath.

Green is for red blemishes, but it works for some peoples under eye circles. Probably because they have red swelling there. Try both out.

    Good Luck!
Green is for red blemishes. I think you mean yellow and no. I've tried just about every yellow concealer on the market and none worked for me. What worked for me was a salmon, peachy concealer.
No, I don't know who told you that, but it just makes your bags stick out more. To get rid of bags under your eyes, lay a cold spoon on each side. It totally works.

What is a good, inexpensive under eye concealer for sensitive skin?

I am a redhead and therefore the skin under my eyes is very transparent and sensitive. I often have redness and irritation, and I have chronic dark circles. I love Mary Kay concealer, but it's expensive and I hate dealing with a consultant. The Jane brand covers well, but it burns and makes my skin chapped. Same with Cover Girl.

Are there any good ones that work on extremely sensitive skin and cost less than $7?What is a good, inexpensive under eye concealer for sensitive skin?
You state Mary Kay's concealer is expensive. Compared to some others on the market, Mary Kay's concealer will last you longer than most others.

The Mary Kay concealer will last you 8 months to a year, or more, if all you use it is under your eyes. The amount you need is a tiny amount, and I mean tiny, because it goes a long ways in the area you want it. It's highly concentrated giving you more for so little. If you are using more than a tiny amount, you're using too much.

I'm sorry you don't like dealing with consultants. Makes me wonder if you have run into some pushy ones. Unfortunately, they are out there just like any other sales person for other products or services.

If you like the concealer and that's all you want, I'll sell it to you no questions asked. I don't pester my customers so if you're interested you can contact me at the address below, and if not that's okay too.

Have a great day. What is a good, inexpensive under eye concealer for sensitive skin?
I have sensitive skin as well. I bought clinique eye concealer about a week ago. It doesn't irritate my skin and it goes on nicely. I bought it from Sephora for $27, and it too goes a long way. It's great and I highly recommend it. Report Abuse

I really like Rimmel's concealer. Also Physician's Formula has some great concealers, and theyre good for all skin types.
I have always trusted the Neutrogena brand... it's noncomedogenic and has always worked on my sensitive skin. It's cheap, you can find it at any drug store, and it comes it shades that match most skin types.
Physician's Formula has a ';Magic Wand Under eye Concealer'; it's great!
Neutrogena is great. They have what they call a 3-in-1 concealer for eyes. It has the concealor, eye cream and SPF all in one. the great thing about this product is its specifically designed for sensitive skin eye area and it comes in different shades. The only thing is it costs $9.99 but well worth it and it lasts. Usually its on sale at CVS buy one get one free or buy one get one half off. i hope this works for you and good luck.

A good concealer or primer for a red face?

I have very red skin on my face (pale with red undertones). What is a good base to use under my foundation to reduce redness, and what is a good foundation for reducing redness?A good concealer or primer for a red face?
i have heard that green concealer works wonders on red spots (such as scars). you probably should not use makeup to cover it up though, as this might cause the skin to get irritated and even more red. instead, try to find the source of the problem. if you dont want to spend the money to seek medical help, then you can try to get rid of the problem using over the counter lotions. aveeno redness relief, or something similar. aloe vera gel or milk has also been known to help.

I like L'oreal visible lift concealer, it's in a tube and it has a click up applicator with a brush head on the end. It covers nicely and doesn't look fake. I use it under my dark circles.

Another decent one is L'oreal bare naturale mineral concealer, this one is a powder concealer in a small jar with a brush head on the lid. It doesn't look like it will do much but it really covers well if you prefer a powder over a liquid.

  • What's the difference between foundation and concealer? Which one is better to hide large pores?

I have large pores around my nose and on my nose. My skin is slightly oily and I don't have much acne. Sometimes they just appear, but it's not something that I don't worry about a lot. However, I have like red sports around my nose and on my nose that looks as if I do have acne even though I don't. Concealer is used for those hard to cover area's.

Such as dark circles under your eyes or acne.

You first use concealer over those area's, and then put on your foundation.

I found that liquid concealer and foundation work the best.
Concealer is used to cover up blemishes or dark spots, while foundation you can apply throughout your entire face to even out your skin tone; it's creates a base for the rest of your makeup.
Concealer does what it says conceals flaws. Foundation goes over the entire face to even skin tone.

    I use only powder foundation.

How do you prevent your under eye concealer from cracking?

I'm using Almay Bright Eyes Eye Base and Concealer. You can use it under your eyes[that's what it says on the box] I pad on a small amount of the liquid under my eye, I still find it looking as if my skin is cracked. I tried wagging my finger under my eye like someone suggested and I still got the same problem. Any suggestions? How do you prevent your under eye concealer from cracking?
Try a different brand. Ask for suggestions at a make-up counter in a department store. It is usually the cheaper brands that contain too many fillers that crack or are too oily and smear your mascara. How do you prevent your under eye concealer from cracking?
Mine never cracks, you must not have very good concealer, or you wear too much of it. Until you can get better concealer, try moisturizing really well or even mixing the concealer with moisturizer.
Try adding a minute amount of eye cream on top of your concealer or blending it with a very small amount of visine. This will thin it and prevent the dry cracking yet allow it to still adhere. HTH
maybe it's the type of concealer. I had this problem and switched to a mineral stick one by Physicians Formula and it works great! or maybe you can try putting some eye cream on beforehand.
    Moisturizer help concealer not crack.
    use cream concealer

What foundation/concealer should I use to cover up freckles/dark circles under my eyes?

Please don't tell me that freckles are gorgeous, because they're not on me. Okay? I'm only asking for brands here, brands that will cover up my freckles and dark circles under my eyes well. By the way, what's the difference between foundations and concealers?

Thanks! What foundation/concealer should I use to cover up freckles/dark circles under my eyes?
The absolute BEST BRAND of makeup (which can cover up the circles and freckles) is MAC. You can look up the locations where they sell it on their website. At the stores they can do a consult and put the makeup on you to show you how it works or the right foundation. I've been using it for 8 years and people used to call me Porcelain Doll because of how clear it made my face look apparently. After using it, I would never use another brand unless I couldn't get this stuff...What foundation/concealer should I use to cover up freckles/dark circles under my eyes?
YES - STUDIOFIX powder is the foundation powder i use - it is the BEST! Report Abuse

foundation is your makeup for all over your face. it's lighter than concealer, because foundation mostly gives you light/moderate coverage, and not full like concealers.

concealer does what it sounds like it should: conceals blemishes, freckles, dark circles...any sort of imperfection. concealers are opaque, for the most part (meaning; you can't see through them: total full coverage).

sounds like you don't need both, so use whatever you are using for makeup all over your face, but i know a great, cheap drugstore concealer that hides EVERYTHING.

    physician's formula: conceal rx physician's strength concealer...$8 at walgreen's.

    good luck!
Oil of Olay, illuminating eye concealer!!! Get it, it's worth the price and really works. You don't want real haevy makeup, it makes a person look like a phony and a clown if they sweat. A moisture tint is great. Hey, freckles are cute!!!
Try Smashbox, camera ready full coverage concealer, is amazing!!! it covers everything. I like their powders better than mineral also because it holds on better than mineral makeup, for me atleast. Try the Halo powder!
I have tried tons of concealers to get the perfect match..I found Nivea Concealer was the perfect one it adjusts your tone %26amp; doesn't appeal like your putting anything

    2- list the estimated price

3- where i could get it at

thanks! What is the difference between a concealer for pimples and a concealer for under your eyes?
the difference between the two is that under eye concealer is made to counteract the blueness/darkness so are peachy in tone, and concealers for pimples are made to counteract the redness so they're a more yellow tone (not yellow but more yellow then under eye ones). I dont use concealer but clinique has good ones, no harmful chemicals and they wont make the pimples worse. theyre a little pricey (i dont know how much it is in the US since i dont live there) and Im pretty sure they'd sell it at a drug store or cosmetic store.

you can check the prices here: http://www.clinique.com/What is the difference between a concealer for pimples and a concealer for under your eyes?
green concealer cover redness, yellow covers darkness like under eye circles.i think mineral makeup works best and its not as expensive as others and its better for ur skin.try www.madminerals.org

mineral makeup w/ bismuth oxychloride can irritate ur skin, the site above does not use bismuth but most drug store mineral makeup does.the madminerals is also water resitant and it can be worn as a powder or mixed w/ lotion if u need it.

What is the best way to apply concealer to under eye circles & the best products?

I have very dark under eye circles and would like to now the best way to cover them using concealer please(:What is the best way to apply concealer to under eye circles %26amp; the best products?
Try using a concealer that is lighter than your usual foundation. Dont brush it under the eye or rub. The best way to apply is to gently dab under the eye gently rolling the finger from one side to the other. Finger are better than brushes as they help melt the concealer and blend into the foundation evenly. Work from the inner corner of the eye towards the outer edge, dont forget the eyelid. What is the best way to apply concealer to under eye circles %26amp; the best products?
try revlon concealer , it is really amazing and cheap

    here are some great tips

    # Use a yellow tinted concealer to hide dark purple circles , mauve or tan concealers to hide brownish circles. There are even green and light blue products to conceal red under-the-eye circles.

    # Choose a lightweight, cream concealer product. The product needs to glide on smoothly and not require a lot of rubbing to apply. Dark circles can be a reaction to circulation problems, which can be exacerbated by rubbing the skin under the eye

    # step away from the makeup counter and check how the concealer looks under more natural lights. Makeup counters are lit in a way to make everyone look as good as possible. Your goal is to make sure that your dark circles aren't noticeable in normally lit circumstances.

    Apply Concealer to Dark Circles

    # Apply the foundation you normally wear to even out your complexion. Blend it as you usually would, without paying any special attention to under the eye. Once your foundation is in place, you should be able to clearly see the dark circles that you need to conceal.

    # Use your specially purchased concealer on the dark circles, applying it in a thin, even coat. This can be accomplished either by using a makeup brush or by patting it on with your finger.

    # Pay close attention to the area where your eye meets the bridge of your nose. This area tends to have the darkest circles and may need more concealer. Other areas to look at closely are directly under your eye and the outside edge where your eye meets your cheekbone.

    # Powder the concealed areas with a translucent powder, using just enough so that the concealer no longer looks sticky or shiny.

    # Apply your normal concealer over the special concealer as you use it on the rest of your face.

I have the same problem and have tried everything. I finally found the answer! Lancome Flash Retouche is it. It comes in a pen shaped container with a paint brush on the end so just paint on a little then dab with your finger to blend it in, wait a few minutes then put on your foundation. Buy it from Macy's and most of the time you will qualify for their free gift of makeup and a makeup bag. This product really works, I had to run and get my makeup bag when I saw this question. :)
the best way is to get a brownish shade of concealer. I prefer stick/pen concealer.

Concealer is mostly a spot treatment for small imperfections, such as scars, acne, blemishes, etc, while foundation is typically used all over to even skin tone and provide all-over coverage. They're usually used together. Bare minerals, mac, make up for ever, avon, and estee lauder make great foundations and concealers in a range of colors, consistencies, and prices. [:

Is concealer supposed to be 1 shade lighter than your foundation? Or the same color as the foundation?

I've never worn concealer because I've never had acne. But lately I've been in the sun and I'm starting to get a little bit of pink on my cheeks. I want to use the concealer to even out the pink.

Should I get concealer that is 1 shade lighter than my foundation? Or should the concealer be the same color as the foundation? Is concealer supposed to be 1 shade lighter than your foundation? Or the same color as the foundation?
one shade lighter, because layering foundation over concealer will make it darker. you want the skin to be an even color.

good luck, beautiful lady!Is concealer supposed to be 1 shade lighter than your foundation? Or the same color as the foundation?
concealer should usually be a shade lighter than foundation. concealer has a thicker consistency than foundation, so if you have the same shade foundation and concealer the concealer can look darker because it's thicker and you use more. it's best to buy one that's lighter so it blends with your foundation better.
1 shade for your face and minor blemishes, 2 shades for major blemishes and dark under eye circles.
concealer should be a bit lighter so that when you apply foundation it will all look nice and even.

What can cut through the oil? Its a brand new brush- meant for applying concealer evenly, really good quality. Thanks for your help.My concealer is oil based, and it clogs up my brush. How can I clean my makeup brush off?
You could get a makeup remover from any popular makeup counter or you can use what's already in your shower.

True you can get a baby shampoo but if you already have shampoo for normal hair then that will work perfectly.

Just rinse the brushes in warm water, then work the shampoo into the bristles and rinse clean. Do this until the water from the brush rinses clear. Leave the brushes to air dry on a towel so they do not lose there form.

I recommend washing your brushes out weekly to be on the safe side since you use oil based makeup this way you don't risk clogging your pores. My concealer is oil based, and it clogs up my brush. How can I clean my makeup brush off?
go to sallys and ask one of the girls for brush cleaner products. they have some really good ones i use for my m.a.c brushes.
run some water into the sink, and add some face wash, baby shampoo, or any gentle soap that you have available. also add a small amount of makeup remover if it doesn't work without it. swish the brush through the soapy water and clean it with your fingers until most of the makeup is gone. try not to mess up the bristles. when you're done, drain the sink, then run the brush under some water to remove the suds of soap. squeeze out any excess water from the brush in the direction of the bristles. pat dry with a towel, then lay it down and let it airdry overnight.

Physician's Formula Mineral Wear Talc-Free Matte Finishing Veil: ~$13.00 individual, ~$20 in 3 the pack

The 3 pack is not on the website, but I know for a fact it is sold at Target. It's probably sold at Walmart, and wherever they carry physician's formula products. The colors I saw that it came in were fair, light, and medium. They probably have Tan; I just didn’t see it at Target.

I have oily skin, so here’s a tip if you do, too. Just carry around the Talc-Free Matte Finishing Veil in a purse or backpack (for school or work or shopping or whatever) and apply it when you feel oily. It's 100% translucent, so it just eats the oil without looking chalky or heavy.

MAC for concealer (a little goes a LONG way and won't give skin a green tone or make it look dull) and Bare Escentuals for foundation. It's the only foundation I found (and believe me, I've tried them all) that doesn't feel heavy and doesn't clog my pores and make me break out. The color is buildable so you can have very light or very heavy coverage when and where you need it. It has SPF 15, leaves skin natural looking and doesn't have any awful, makeup smell.
I really like powder foundation from Sephora (NARS or Bare Minerals). Because they are very settled but NARS powder is a bit too loose. As for liquid foundation I like revlon colorstay, it is a cheaper version of MAC's studio fix fluids. As for concealer I really love MACs~ :)

Try mineral makeup. There are a lot of different brands out there. You can put more of it on top of parts of your skin that you want to cover and less elsewhere. It looks much more natural than cream concealer and it really won't make your acne worse. In fact, a lot of people say it makes their acne better. The only downside is that it might make your skin itchy. It does that to me. I don't get a rash or anything but my skin does itch when I use it.
L'Oreal TrueMatch is the only concealer I have ever used that actually worked. I am very pale. They have lots of different shades and tones with a chart to help you figure out what will work for you. Yay! Usually they just have make different shades of the same color which is dumb because people have different skin tones, ie Asians will have more of a yellow tone and my best friend is really pink. Etc. I can't believe it took them so long to make this stuff!
bare essentuals works the best. its natural and it covers really well. one good thing about it is that you never have makeup lines becuase the line is so easy to match your skin tone. and also it works well because it is loose powder.
Bare essentials works great, i love it!! :)

It provides such GREAT coverage and stays on all day... it's amazing stuff. If you want to check out the shades, visit my website at www.marykay.com/mrwahl. I love Mary Kay products so much, I signed up to represent the company. Hope this helps!
I use Mary KAy concealer and mary kay Mineral Powder foundation and it works great to cover blemishes! It's reasonably priced too and it's the cheapest profession grade makup around. you really should try it! There's also a medicated acne treatment gel that's only $7 at this site. I use this makeup and skin care everyday and I love it!

if you have acne just go to a dermatologist or do it at home keep hands out of face and be careful what you put on your skin and wash and cleanse face every morning and night and dont pick at it dark circles get more sleep and use organic makeup in the process to wait for your body to get back to your normal sleep time

Using foundation and concealer will only make more acne because you are covering your pores. I suggest clearasil cream, it works really fast!!

What is the difference between concealer and a lighter shade of foundation?

Can you use a lighter shade of foundation to cover up blemishes and dark circles the same way a concealer does? Or do they work differently? What is the difference between concealer and a lighter shade of foundation?
Concealer is far more heavily pigmented (=concentration of coloured particles in the fluid) than foundation - meaning its like sun block in comparison to sun lotion. Concealer tends to be far harder to work into the skin than foundation which is more fluid and creamy and so concealer is only really suitable for small areas of the face at a time or your face would appear very blotchy and thick with make up. The kind of concealers you are talking about which appear to be ';lighter'; under the eyes are concealers such as Touche Eclat which are full of light reflecting pigments (or little tiny specks of sheeny glittery stuff to me and you) which when photographed with flash reflect the light back and make the under eye area appear lighter than the rest of the face, which is actually just a negative side affect of these types of concealers (even when the concealer is in actual fact the same colour as their foundation it will always appear paler), so a paler foundation will not work in the same way as it is simply a lighter shade but does not contain these special light reflecting particles (or it may contain some but not as concentrated). What is the difference between concealer and a lighter shade of foundation?
I don't recommend. Concealer is thicker, which is great for dark circles. Invest in a good eye gel to prep your skin before hand. As for covering up blemishes, your actually clogging your pores even more if you add foundation on top of foundation on the infected area. I would purchase Murad Acne Treatment Concealer. It has great coverage and really drys out the blemish. Just be careful when applying because you don't want to go crazy and put it all over.. just on the blemish!
concealer has more coverage- foundation has less- u would wear concealer in addition to foundation to cover problematic areas tht may have pimples, scars, discoloration, etc. u can wear concealer on its own if u have already decent skin, and set it with powder, or foundation on its own, if u dont have much to cover. foundation provides a good base fro your makeup- if u like to wear blush, etc- tht is its purpose- the purpose of concealer is to cover imperfections- so they are different

    hope this helps%26lt;3
You can try it! If it's a really good foundation that lasts long, it may work. Sometimes I wet my concealer brush and dip it in my mineral foundation to cover small, barely noticeable spots. But for things like dark circles or red blemishes i use my mineral concealer.

It IS different than the foundation. EXTREMELY adhesive, like you can't just rub it off after you apply it. I use a yellowish one for under eyes, and a greenish one for blemishes.

if u use a lighter shade as a concealer it will brighten the area around ur eyes. a concealer is not lighter its ur skin color in a thick formula to help cover up. thats why a concealer is not for all over the face. so no it does not help and does show up in pics! there is a fine line between them hope this helps!
    Concealer is usually thicker :)

You can use foundation to cover up blemishes and dark circles, too... Eve Pearl does :) you'll have to look for a foundation that is just as thick as a concealer, though... so a concealer is the simplest choice ;)
Concealer is thicker and is designed for hiding things and foundation is to even skin tone. If the concealer you are using now isn't working try a new one get one that matches your skin tone as close as possible.
concealer is made with a yellow shade (yellow cancels out red)...red is the color of blemishes or scars. Foundation is made to even out skin tone. So no, even a lighter shade will not do the same job as a concealor. Good luck!
Concealer is a thinker consistency than foundation, so that it can cover things like spots or under eye circles easily. Foundation is less thick than concealer, because it is only meant to even out the skin tone.
You can use a lighter shade of make up. I have done that.Usually it's a bit thicker. But a lighter shade will cover redness %26amp; some imperfections.
concealer is thicker and provides more coverage than a foundation.

I recommend Revlon Colorstay liquid foundation and concealer
Concealer helps with troubled spots, and foundation evens out skin tone
